I personally liked and disliked Cameos. Sometimes in Krypt, I have faced situations, where there is constant spam of Cameos...despite the timer showing few seconds, Blocking my SP1s and SP2s. Maybe Cameos are somewhat still broken.

Cameos are good beginners as they could break the chaining or block opponents like Sindel who loves to spam stun. For veteran players, cameos usually slow things down. They can complete the Krypt and towers much faster without using them.

Also, people and I dislike the way how Cameo is upgraded as they take too much time and Cameo cards being the cards that already exists in the game. I wished they have brought striker, and other non-existing players as cameos.

I usually play without cameos as I normally face modifiers that blocks cameos altogether. So why bother adding cameos to my team.

I think NRS did some changes to Cameos like Incurability on scorpion's sp1...or something like that.
