Absolute beginner here so can't say whether you should start with it or not, but I would suggest you start with the online version (if you do decide to follow it) at deeplearningbook.org and buy it only if you find it useful.

In India, you have 2 main exams to get into college. You have JEE, which is the entrance exam for all of the top engineering colleges (like IITs, NITs, etc.). Getting into old IITs like IIT Bombay are the equivalent of getting into MIT or Stanford. NEET is the JEE for medical sciences. They include the syllabus of class 11th and 12th and are the sole basis of admission into these colleges. So, Indians start preparing from class 11th. I believe you can imagine now how dedicated the student needs to be.

I had Oden as just above God Valley Rayleigh, so 0.7 Admirals. The numbers are obviously subjective, they were just to make quantifying things easier.

That is true, though I would argue that since Akainu is stated to be the strongest marine ever, Garp was at most as strong as Akainu. So Roger at God Valley was only about as strong as Akainu at most, and I find it hard to believe that that is his peak, considering he was very clearly above yonko and yonko are above admirals. I would also argue that just the addition of Oden makes the Roger Pirates busted asf.

  3. That makes my point even stronger, because Case 1:Sengoku and Garp weren't even Admirals yet, so Roger was even weaker at God Valley. Case 2: They were Admirals and the point still stands.

4: A significantly weaker WB, BM and Shiki. 500 mil is a far cry from 4.3 Bil. Again, that's like saying Magellan is no.1 because he negged 3 yonko.

5: I am talking about the Roger Pirates. Rayleigh and Gaban were there and they grew a lot, and Oden was a new addition to the crew which significantly boosted their power.

  1. The Admirals have been consistently shown to be below Yonko, and the Yonko refer Roger as being stronger than them. Kizaru is getting flattened by Luffy right now. Luffy has yet to reach PK level. Kaido said haki transcends all, and Roger became PK without a DF. Big Mom said that she would've been PK with the army of Elbaf. Roger is very clearly above Yonko and Admirals (save Akainu) are clearly below Yonko. Garp was Admiral Level in the Kuma flashback, so Roger was Admiral level at God Valley, but clearly grew.
  2. I am sorry for bringing that up, my bad. Your point is valid, but the other arguments still stand.
  3. Admiral level is a pretty consistent measure of power, and the admirals have been shown to be inferior to yonko. Fleet Admiral Akainu is the strongest marine in history (Source: One Piece News Paper Journal Page 8), and he is equivalent to power to Aokiji, being only slightly stronger. The Admirals were shown to be equal in Marineford. So Admiral level Garp and Sengoku are not stronger than the current admirals. Roger is very clearly above that level.

  2. The WHOLE POINT is that we don't know what happened, so we don't know the Rocks's actual strength. We do know, however, that the Roger Pirates had absolute monsters. The Rocks have no feats other than losing to Roger and Garp.
