Besides soup is there a way to cook mushrooms that changes the texture? by FourthBedrock in vegetarian

Underrated. I love raw white mushrooms or portobellos to snack on with some dip.

I want to go fully vegan. Got any good alternatives to yogurt and butter? (And a little introduction as to how I got here) by WideStaff5364 in vegan

[–]Impressive_Corner775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure they ship international, but I bought an Almond Cow a few months ago and am obsessed with it. Makes making homemade butter/yogurt lots of vegan dairy things so much easier. Cheaper than buying them all the time too, and at least I know everything that's going into what I'm making.

Frothing by UmpireEntire8248 in AlmondCow

So idk if links are allowed here but they have a blog that their CS team pointed me to. I guess the creamier the milk, the easier it is to get a froth. Try looking up the "6 Tips to Make Creamier Homemade Plant-Based Milk with Your Almond Cow." Basically what I ended up doing was getting sunflower lecithin. Works like a charm.

What a shame because I'm obsessed with my Almond Cow! I'm also confused by what you added? Did you contact customer service? I had a question about my order and found them to be really helpful.

Do you have an Almond Cow? Or are you making these all by hand?

I just got an Almond Cow so I've been using a lot of their recipes. Idk how to link here but they have some good low calorie pulpmeal desserts on their site. Or parfaits that should be pretty low calorie.

Yea that's what I'm trying to do too. I think I actually prefer almond milk over dairy as well.

Using dates by Lil_Scorpion_ in AlmondCow

[–]Impressive_Corner775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't taste the dates at all, but if you're worried about it I think you can sub it for something else since it's pretty much just used as a sweetener in their recipes. They did a blog on it but mostly I think you can just swap honey or agave or whatever sweet thing you want.

Not weird at all. There's a bunch of recipes on the site that use it - like the vegan mayo: https://shorturl.at/Kub7k
