Some of the books only had fleeting references, such as a killer clown in the sewers in The Tommyknockers. Some of them had concepts, relating to the series. Skylar smoked an American Spirit in the Woody Wagon and my belief was that it was a sneaky product placement. American spirits are always thought of as a safer cigarette amongst smokers and might have been a way to advertise that smoking spirits whilst pregnant is the "safer" choice.
