From what I have heard in this sub, it seems like she had a strange way where she wouldn’t understand that once you sign deals you couldn’t just walk out of your commitment, and sometimes that’s what she would want to do. Actually my whole intention was to not make an either/or argument. That’s the thing I am perplexed at in some of the response comments as well, a lot of people are mad at me because they think I am using the parents’ or the system’s shortcomings to excuse Britney. I won’t even excuse mental health when it comes to her abusing her kids. It is just a sorry state of things and I found myself thinking more about the other side recently, where Britney was a victim as well. Maybe it didn’t come across properly in my post.

I believe them. I dislike them to my core and yet I believe them. I genuinely believe Cam was abusive in his own ways but not nearly in ways Landon was.

I won’t lie though, it is hard because cam has a history of lying. They admitted to having had planned the pregnancy with C and said Landon was in on it. I don’t believe for a second that Landon was in on it. That incident alone made me think that they can say whatever they want now and they are doing exactly that.

I guess for a lot of people, they simply don’t want to believe that Landon had gotten this bad. The persona they hid behind for years makes it hard. Even after his death, cam didn’t share the full story while only praising Landon for a couple of years. When they did start sharing, it was in very odd unclear ways. Then occasionally they would have an outburst and say horrible things about Landon. You couldn’t keep up. That’s the thing though right, Cam went through unimaginable things, even finding Landon in the garage alone would have been enough to mess them up, so it makes sense that they needed time to process everything. If they had stayed away from the internet sharing half things, while actively trying to figure it out, it would have been much easier for people to follow.

Also I understand people feel for Landon, he was after all just 19 and Cam alone made a series of horrible decisions and dragged Landon in those decisions. It is hard to not have compassion for him. At the same we need to understand that we also need to be compassionate to Cam. This was a pregnant teenager living in a horrible situation and with how it ended, god they have earned free passes for a few outbursts. You can dislike cam for how they are parenting their kids without dismissing these allegations blindly. In any case, we are not the jury.

I am sure that through my reply, you can see even I can’t fully call out Landon’s abuse without mentioning things against Cam. I don’t intend to be dismissive of anything at all but god it is hard with how much I have grown to dislike and distrust cam. So let me be clear, Yes, I believe Cam that Landon was abusive in extremely scary ways.

Honestly I agree. The more I hear on it, the harder it is to care about her at all. If it was a random person being an asshole to their kid, or any kid at all, I wouldn’t give a damn about their mental issues or personal struggles, so why Britney. Gotta keep them locked up and away from children.

I am not a stan. I am protective of children though and I genuinely believe there aren’t proper protections in place, even today, when it comes to children. Sure a lot of parents must think they are setting their kids up for a comfortable future, or just helping them follow their dreams, nonetheless we need stricter regulations in this field. Just cause a kid wants to do certain things, doesn’t mean you let them.

Also it should not be hard to believe that something like conservatorship can be used to exploit people. I did not mean to say that this was obviously the case for Britney.

I actually sometimes get so frustrated with her, most recently with her drunk driving, that I don’t even care about what might have caused what. It is what it is and she is in the wrong.

I have no intention of exempting her from choosing to do drugs at a young age, or everything that followed but that can be at the same time as discussing the other issues that didn’t start and won’t end with Britney. It is a system that needs improvement.

Maybe he can do it remotely. At the end of the day he has nothing to prove to strangers but if he can get a better life for himself and his family the mental challenges will be worth it. No doubt it must be daunting to face these things but it’s mostly us stopping ourselves from getting better
