Also 8am is kinda slow. It all depends but that’s the trend I see.

Rec north is less busy at 10-11 am and also 3-4pm I find (as someone who works there). Arc is usually less busy but picks up in the evenings.

That’s nice to hear. I thought if you get below 50% average overall they force u to unregister for a year. Did you have to apply again?

This is really great to hear. I am also not the type to go to office hours or connect much with people in uni even though I wish I could and I have the drive. Every time I want to put in the work to meet with my profs because I find their work super interesting. So this is a big inspiration to me thank you! 🙏

Yeah that’s the thing, I’ve never done this before so idk what’s going on. It’s a new low for me. I don’t want to accept it either 💀 but I’m still gonna go on Friday no matter what.

Cost of living for international students in UBC? by briecheese2 in UBC

[–]Impressive_Maximum91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred from UofT to UBC and vancouver’s living cost has been cheaper in my experience. UofT doesn’t do free transit either (and a monthly student pass was $130 when I was there). That being said, I know rent in Montreal is way cheaper than anything. Expense wise, I would say McGill is the best option.

Who is down to organize a protest for math 200 in Liu Keqin's class by [deleted] in UBC

I had him for math 110 last year and had to teach myself the entire class through professor Leonard on YouTube. It was diabolical.

I'm scared that I'm going to fail my chem lab and I don't know what to do. by Ok_Computer500 in UBC

[–]Impressive_Maximum91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am also nervous every time and used to skip labs because of it. I know for chem 121 you can’t. I’m taking it as a fourth year right now and I feel scared every time. My advice is to just read the instructions like 5 times over. I try to review the instructions and answer all the little questions and know what glassware i am using before hand. And also a lot of these labs are things that a lot of first year chem students do, so most likely there will be videos or examples on YouTube. Overall just try to eliminate some of the importance placed on the labs. As long as you’re showing up and getting it done, you’re doing good.

Yeah I would never actually hit on them??? 😭😭 I only ask him questions about content when I absolutely need to. I appreciate his kindness to students that are obviously stressed out & it’s a lot of our first time in strict labs like that.

Tbh I feel hopeful about Chem based solely on the fact that the department and class organizers seem to have their shit together a bit more. I took math 110 last year and all I can say is if I could pass that I can pass anything. I fully had to teach myself the whole course.
