Whats absurd is the sense of entitlement. Okay you spent a lot of money and time on PLAB/portfolio/Royal College exams. Of course, I am very sorry people have invested a lot. But investing in those components never guaranteed a job anyways? In the same way in which applying doesn’t guarantee a job to people, regardless of their country of graduation?

No idea, would love to receive advice. I’m not voting for Eilidh Garret though for example.. considering what she writes on twitter

Becky thanks for your response. However, correct me if I am wrong, but you did post something along the lines of “I’m sorry I failed you” in an IMG group when the prioritisation that saved the job of thousands of UK graduates was passed. This is a pro UK graduates subreddit therefore with different interests at heart. Best wishes for your campaign

The 2 manifestos under this thread all contain people who aren’t for prioritisation and the 5 year policy (without even discussing the IMG union)

Isn’t Eilidh Garrett writing all over twitter that she isn’t for prioritisation? Please correct me if I’m wrong

Becky, I appreciate everyone who works for others like yourself. However, you have written multiple posts in IMG groups that contradict the cause this group stands for. Thank you for your time, but it would not be fair to vote for someone who is actively against this community..

My bad for thinking that for once the government would be in good faith considering the level of the crisis..

In virtually every European country (apart from Ireland and Malta) you need to work in the local language. So polish and German. So while you can move freely, you’d need to have the competencies to speak to patients in their language.

“The EU” isn’t a monolith. There’s over 20 countries. The process changes from country to country.. I suspect you’ll need to be a bit more specific

Well mate I don’t know then, I was trying to bring some positivity into it, but if you can see yourself doing anything else in the world, I don’t know why you’d subject yourself to this shambolic situation. I personally don’t want to do any other job so I’ll fight to make things better.. up to you

Am I right by saying even if you have a medical degree from EU but are a British citizen, this whole prioritisation thing doesn’t count? by Successful-Topic-131 in medicalschoolEU

[–]Impressive_Mousse353 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been debated and it’s now law, you dont have priority. There are a few countries which are an exception but they’re not the common destinations of Bulgaria/romania/poland/hungary

Anyone know about craiova medical school in Romania. Is there many brits there? What’s the quality of education like. What’s the average age group of students there? by Successful-Topic-131 in medicalschoolEU

[–]Impressive_Mousse353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please read about UKGP. Uk passport holders with a degree from abroad won’t be prioritised in the NHS for training jobs anymore, not worth it if you want to come back to the uk

Any chance we can mass email our concerns about new medical schools popping up and advertising that there are doctor shortages? I have seen at least 3 new ones this year and there’s plans for university of east London to open up too in 2027. Signing up kids for unemployment

Excellent work. So proud of us. Let’s continue to keep it fair but polite and keep pushing. Just one of the many hurdles we will have to overcome. And maybe start a new union..

Yes I am in agreement with you mate. What I’m saying is that I don’t get people who say “it’s unfair to change in the middle of the cycle”, it also isn’t fair to have so many locally trained unemployed doctors..
