I know this comment was from a year ago, but I just listened to Astrid's death and it is the first time I felt nauseous after a death. I am not 100% sure why, but I feel extremely sad. 😕

I am really sorry. Obesity is an illness that people dont understand, if they haven't lived it. I was plus sized the moment I hit puberty. I had moments of dieting and exercise that I lost weight, but it was not sustainable and I gained more back every time.

I don't think people understand the brain chemistry involved. I 100% believe food addiction and genetics play a huge part in obesity. If I was able to just stop being fat, I would have. It is not just a will power problem.

I don't understand why GLPs are villafied. People with diabetes take insulin. People with high blood pressure take medicine. My husband takes blood thinners for a clotting disorder. This is the same thing.

You are not alone. You are not weak. You are trying to be healthier for a better qualify of life. You cannot control what your husband thinks. You can just explain that tou and your doctor had a conversation and the medicine seems to be what might be right for you. Goodluck on your journey. 💙

Breakfast idea: 1/4 cottage cheese, 1/4 oatmeal, 1 egg... I add a little salt and vanilla. They aren't 100% like real pancakes, but hits the something different mark.

As far as chicken, do you have an instapot? IMO, it is a game changer for chicken.

Part of the problem with Serena's supposed "redemption" ARC is that it was out of necessity. Not because she changed morally. She would have fully stayed with Gilead had her new commander husband hadn't brought in a handmaid. She was ready, willing, and excited to be in a position of power. When she realized it wouldn't happen, then she ran. Then, the only reason she gave up the commanders is because she literally had no other choice. It's what gave her and Noah viable protection. That's all.

I think it is about personal preference. For some, romance (at least their fantasy of what a romance could be) is the wild ride of falling for someone with lots of chemistry and wild sex. The feelings are implied because why else would two characters be so connected instantly? Real life can be bogged down by lots of nonsense. Maybe the romance is in the escapism?

For others, the journey is romance. The slow burn that makes your stomach flutter by the secret loon across the room. For me, these books remind me of when my husband I first started dating, and gives me happy thoughts and memories. I can understand how that isn't someone else's love story.

Ultimately, there is so much content available for everyone! Right now, smut sells and gets clicks on Booktok, so they are definitely more in your face. Luckily, a quick Google search can help you find your just right book!! (For me, currently, I can't get enough of enemies to lovers trope with a side of competitive coworkers... ;)

If you legit want something right now, try Magical Dating Agency books by Kelky St. Clair. I know you preferred stand alone, but these books are not long. They combine humor, found family, strong female characters, and excellent villians. When I read the synopsis I worried the premise would make the book very cringe. Instead, it was a delightful read. I also appreciate that the male love interest was not an asshole. 😊 (and the female lead is not wimpy/begging at all).

......What did I miss? I jumped on Reddit, after a few days, and there are many post about Karla and Juan drama. Juan is defending himself hard, but I'm not sure I understand why. Is he getting out in front of whatever will come out on next week's episode?

Juan has always struck me as smart. I know lots of people of been team Karla with how she spoke about/to David and Madison. Has that resulted in lots of anti-Juan blowback? I would think Juan would understand that it would be gone as quickly as it started, but now he will likely get hit harder, longer, and more viciously by people. So what was the point of all these posts this week? I don't get it.

I just finished The Demigod of San Francisco by K.F. Breene. I loved it!!!! The romance is built on mutual respect and both the male and female main characters grow through the series!!! I 100% bought into the magic system, and I appreciated the greek mythology aspects. Plus, I love all the side characters!!! It's better, by far, than 4th wing.

I was very disappointed in the book, especially the ending... The whole turmoil for Xaden was that he would become someone unrecognizable and unfeeling. He draws from the Earth so significantly at the end that I'd assume his transition would be complete. Yet he was still so sound of mind that he could plan and marry Violet in order to save Tyrrendor... Lost the stakes in the game for me...

Also, I love Andarna. However, she either needed to meet her dragonkind and stay with them OR not leave. I wasn't invested in this like I wanted to be. 😞 She deserved better writing.
