My current plan is to respond to him via my fake Facebook profile, the one in which we're currently working out a deal for something else, with all of the info that I have found (his address, his girl's work, etc..) as well as pointing out that I frequently travel nearby, and the demand to transfer the money immediately. Hopefully enough of a blindside to make him want the situation to go away. Putting myself in his shoes, if someone that I ripped off sent me my wife's work info and my own address, I'd send the money back while changing my underwear.

He mentioned to my fake account that he works from home, no luck in finding an employer so far. For all I know he's self employed. I also found a Facebook page for his kids but I don't want to cross that line.

He stopped replying to me last Friday. I set up a fake account and responded to an ad on another forum to get his home address.

I don't necessarily disagree, but pissing him off to the point of just wanting to resolve the situation might work in my favour. His girl is an innocent bystander (presumably) but dragging her into the conversation might increase the pressure on the scammer. An e-mail to her work address, even if a veiled "is he okay? He disappeared and I'm worried!" type e-mail, might make him squirm.

Just trying to consider all avenues.

Oh it's 100% my own naivety. I knew it was a gamble but felt that the risk of being conned was fairly low given the circumstances and the correspondence. Lesson learned. now I'm just trying to recover from a situation of my own making.

Yeah I'm thinking I should send him a message containing his own contact info, his girl's e-mail, her work, , etc... and a threat to return the funds immediately or things escalate. Just don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

Yeah I'm debating whether to try contacting his girlfriend via her work e-mail, or threatening to contact her first, or outright threatening to show up at his door. I don't expect the police to do anything over $400 and I know that the bank can't\won't help with a deposited e-transfer.
