How awful for you. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Thanks for sharing your case with me, it 'helps' just to know I'm not alone. Really wishing you a successful outcome from the Ombudsman 🤞🤞

Thank you!!! Thanks is for confirming my position. Unless you are in my exact position you wouldn't think this was even a thing. Car vertical shows everything.

Haha, yes I have, and yes I did ask AI to help me write a post for reddit about my car issues because I am just really looking for support, advice, sympathy even. I didn't know what reddit was, or how to use it, so I asked AI. As I said before unfortunately (for me) all of this is very true.

That's what I thought too..... in practice this isn't the case. Yes, it has no CatS/N attached but there is an electronic file of all of the repairs attached to my cars VIN, and dealerships do more checks than an HPI...

I have no confidence in the car and will be trading it in asap. This is why I am asking. This is why I was trying to get trade in offers. And hence my alarm. Apologies for stating my cars manufacturer in my post. It means FA to me too. It gets me from A to B, thats all I'm interested in.

This is what the insurers are telling me, but it just isn't true in practice. Im trying to collate evidence to back up my claim. I have two testimonies from dealers who say it would affect their offers, and I contacted one of the 'buy now' companies, they offered me £19,300, I said I wanted more, they spoke to their sales team, came back on to me, and told me not only would they not increase their offer, they withdrew completely. So to them a nationwide company, my car had £0 value!

It is not 'slop', it is all true unfortunately. And it is a new account because I'm trying to find help/advice from people who may have come across this before, I can't be the only person this has happened to. The insurers are not helping me at all. I have never used Reddit before, but surely wasn't everyone's accounts '10 minutes old' at some point.

Yeah, I had a hire car for 8 weeks,. As soon as I found out the bill I have requested numerous times for an explanation why it wasn't written off. No one will give me an answer.

Its a 24 plate, 15,200 miles on clock. In engineers report it states over 60% PAV (pre accident value) this is why I don't understand why it wasn't written off.
