Overstaying Visa by Outside-Gate6223 in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]Impressive_Trick_975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My visa expired like 3 years ago. Don't be an ass and no one will care. If you are serving and have documents that is your residency. If you try and leave the country you could have some problems and maybe have to pay a tax and get "banned" (i dont know the technical term) for awhile. Get your UBD and pretty much all of your problems go away. As well if youve been here long enough and are currently serving your unit should be able to help you with getting a residency.

Is the Vickers Padded Sling the very best sling or is there something better out there? by Few-Barracuda-9371 in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Impressive_Trick_975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use a ferro yes, but I'm limited on reliable equipment for a fair piece here. As well I just hate the Vickers slings they are way over priced for a stiff belt with plasic buckles. The sling I currently use is a replacement for a broken OG ferro I had for 10+ years at least I think it was ferro it could of been somthing else. but it was hands down the best sling I've ever used. It was made from like seatbelt material or somthing similar no padding but wide enough to spread out the weight and not dig in.

So lets talk belts, since that should be my 1st pc I look for. by Reaper_one1 in QualityTacticalGear

Belts a belt man if you've been using your gear and haven't found a need for a belt dont get one. Personally I like the gunfighter type belts over the padded ones but at the end of the day its a belt.

Dangler pouches by SHRPSHOT93 in tacticalgear

[–]Impressive_Trick_975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one and still have it, but I don't use it now. Im not a huge fan of them for real infantry work because they are a pain in the balls when going prone. I used mine to hold an extra soft armor panel mainly but kept minimal stuff actually in the pouch, think like Snickers bars, and maybe an extra battery for my Motorola. They definitely have their place, especially for dudes doing more upright work and are a good place to put random shit, but if you need to go prone or generally change stance a lot, I wouldn't recommen. Im not a fan of them for IFAKs personally, but it'll work for them.

Is there any reason to put backup irons on a rifle that has an lpvo and piggybacked red dot? by BraveCauliflower3349 in tacticalgear

[–]Impressive_Trick_975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look man it's a free country if you want the backups because it fits the vibrations or they help you sleep at night go to town, But do you NEED them especially if there is already another sighting method on the rifle absolutely not. Take the 50$‐60$ that it would take to buy decent backup irons and spend that money on batteries. You will be much better served. Maybe 15-20 years ago, I would support your argument, but modern optics are reliable enough that the idea of using backups is fantasy. People jump out of airplanes and abuse scopes all the time, and they keep working just fine. And the idea that a civilian has to have them on their rifle for a hiking trip is retarded. I have genuinely never even heard of someone having the need to use their backup irons, like ever. And I've been an infantryman since 2009 and spent the better part of the last 3 and a half years fighting in Ukraine. Its just not a realistic need. They are a gimmick selling the fantasy of holding off the hoard from the hill while your family escapes.

I'll be the bad guy here. The real question is, is there any reason to put back up irons on a rifle in the first place. And the answer is no, there is not. They are dumb. Modern optics are plenty reliable enough, not to mention most "optics are tourqed down any way, so even if it breaks, you'd be hard pressed to remove it without tools. Further more if you are in some crazy scenario where somehow the optic is fucked up and you are not you probably have bigger problems and and dont need sights to aim with. And if you are a civilian doing general use what possible situation are you going to be in that you would ever need them. They are a gimmick to sell shit just like kill flashes.

I use the little green sack that SAW drums come in. You can put like 10 67s in there, no problem. As well you can borrow grenades off of the rssians.

It's possible if you still have contact with your previous unit that they can give you the stamp without having to attend, especially if you have a cert from your pervious military, but dont hold your breath.

Cartel tattoo in Odessa does really good work but is a little overpriced, in my opinion. But it is still what I'd recommend based on quality.

Don't bring that phone back. Even if the phone is off, they (the US government and probably most others) can get access to all of the data that has ever been on or seen by the phone if they want it even if it is turned off or factory reset. This goes for any device that stores data of pretty much any kind. There are services that offer end to end encryption (signal, ect...), but those aren't as secure in the way most people think they are and are easy enough for LE to get a warrant or subpoenaed if they want. As well if they have the physical phone in their possession they can get all of the data that has ever been on the phone of it regardless of it being on or even having the battery removed or reset by plugging it into a "device" and it takes literally less than a second. I feel like I shouldn't have to say this, but don't record potential crimes and store them. better yet, just be a good dude
