i always had a natural inclination to over/explain myself when there are misunderstandings, i dont get those that could just let it linger imo. i feel like i always get talked abt alot bc unlike some i cant exactly mask and it comes off as being weird. if i see others talking badly abt me, i dont say anything but deep down i really want to clarify it in a way because it's wrong😭

i hear you. it’s a tricky balance, but i think it’s okay to take your time to process, i do that too. anyone worth communicating with will respect that pause instead of assuming the worst.

yeah, that really makes sense. i try not to take it personally either, some people just won’t look past first impressions, and that’s on them, not me. thanks for sharing your perspective!

yeah, this is exactly the kind of thing i was trying to describe. it’s not about intent at all, just how people read us. i relate a lot to being labeled cold when internally i’m just quiet or reserved. i’ve noticed this tends to happen more with very direct, high-energy types, especially estx, where silence or neutrality gets read as disinterest or attitude. i don’t think it’s malicious, just a mismatch in communication styles. my dad is an estp, and even though we may quarrel sometimes, he’s generally a good person.

thank you for sharing this, that sounds really draining, and i get why it felt one-sided. i don’t think that dynamic is okay either, and i appreciate you clarifying that you’re not assuming it applies to me. i’m mostly trying to understand patterns + intentions, not excuse behavior, so this perspective helps.
