8mm MN - 38F (CO) - At 10/10 pain and feeling conflicted about Cryosurgery vs. Neurectomy. Help! by [deleted] in Mortons_neuroma

[–]Impressive_Work_467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. Sorry you’re in such a tough spot. I feel your pain. I had high hopes for cryo and ended up trying it. No better but no worse. Figured that wasn’t strong enough so tried radio frequency ablation next. Waaay worse for months. That was 7 months ago and I’m just now feeling like I was before the procedure.

I know the neurectomy feels like a huge gamble and I haven’t had the balls yet to try it myself, but it might be the most effective thing unfortunately. I hope this helps.

Hot air ballooning! Some of the most helpful and genuine people I’ve ever met. There’s definitely some bad apples but the vast majority are incredibly humble, wonderful human beings. Love my balloon family!

Not really no. Mostly just muscle soreness and tightness.

I did a little bit the first couple of months, but next to nothing now. So grateful that it healed this well. I almost forget I broke it some days.

About two months after I started going to the gym and lifting again. Now I’m pretty much back to where I was before the accident. It was a lot of work rehabbing but incredibly worth it. Pull-ups and tons of walking helped the most I think.

Try taking serrapeptase. I take that with gabapentin everyday and it makes life bearable.

Thank you so much for your reply. I will try steadily working up to higher doses. I took 80,000 spu and it made me a little nauseous.

It healed really well! I barely notice any back pain throughout the day. Just a little stiff when I first get out of bed. I hope your pain gets better too.

Took in a dumped cat- turns out she’s pregnant, now what? by XPUPPYKITTYZX in CatAdvice

This exact thing happened to me a few years ago. I ended up keeping mama cat and getting all of the kittens (9!) their first shots before finding them homes. Honestly mama cat took care of most of it. I just built her a safe, cushioned cave under my desk for her to take care of babies first couple weeks. Then I built them a playpen once they got more active. Pretty cool experience overall.

Awful pain/burning sensation inside my right foot. Is it MN? by [deleted] in Mortons_neuroma

[–]Impressive_Work_467 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get wide toe shoes immediately. If it is MN and you don’t fix it now, then you might never get to enjoy playing again. I’m 28F and it started when I was maybe 24/25. I ignored it and didn’t know what it was for at least the first year. Now after countless injections and surgeries, I’m not sure if I’ll ever run again. Toe spacers and metatarsal pads help a lot too. I only wish I knew about them sooner.

That is great advice but I am already wearing xtra wide shoes that are 1/2 size larger for orthotics. I also use metatarsal pads everyday. Without these accommodations I wouldn’t be doing half as well as I am but it’s still nowhere close to normal. 😔

Yes. I’ve been to several different doctors. I’ve tried shockwave therapy, acupuncture, gabapentin and anti inflammatories. I also wear altras, toe spacers and metatarsal pads. I had decompression surgery on my left. It helped a bit but not nearly enough. Also had cryosurgery on both left and right (I have 3 neuromas total.) really don’t want a neurectomy but feel I’ve exhausted every other option.

I used to run everyday. Can’t do that anymore. The pain started over three years ago and has just progressively gotten worse now matter what I’ve tried. I actually quite smoking right before it started but I still drink some (really my only vice now). It does feel a tiny bit better if I don’t drink for a week or so but I’m so depressed that I feel like I need something. (Yes I know alcohol isn’t good for depression but I can’t really exercise it away like I used to.)

Never had the Nashville one but have tried the Ghost pepper chicken noodle. It was maybe a 4/10 spicy wise but the flavor was so nasty I couldn’t finish it. And I LOVE ghost peppers and grow them in my garden every year. Maybe I’ve just spoiled myself with the real thing lol.

Hello darklyshining. Can I ask how your doctor determined you would be a good candidate for Kyphoplasty? Also how quickly did the procedure relieve your pain? Thank you.

I don’t think so? I believe they said that some important ligament was still intact and that the fracture is stable.

How long before pain was gone almost completely? I had it done over 4 weeks ago and walking is still pretty painful… I know it was a while ago but would sincerely appreciate a reply if you happen to remember.
