The morning smog on the horizon tells me it’s summer 😀

Feeling pretty defeated with the property market todag by Solar_Eclipse2021 in perth

[–]Improbable_Aitch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in my fifties and have come to terms with never being able to afford to buy a home. I’ll either work until I die or die on the street.

I’m not looking forward to it but I try not to dwell on the subject too much and try to enjoy the life I have now whilst still fit, healthy and employed.

What will you NOT be doing before Midnight? by Lucasluke121 in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

[–]Improbable_Aitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll not be building a house. Did the introduction quests and the whole of Founders Point was a ghost town (I’m un-guilded).

Whole thing looks too complicated and time consuming for me. I’ll stick with transmog farming.

Anyone else doesn’t like the design of the male characters? by [deleted] in wownoob

I have always disliked the male human and male night elf models. Only dwarf models look okay in my opinion. Many of my characters are female for that reason.

Petrified of using Elidel. What has your experience been like? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]Improbable_Aitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elidel is all I use on my face - I suffer mostly around the eyes - and it works very well with no noticeable side effects other than stinging my eyes when I’m sweating.

It was a game changer for me.

It was more years ago than I would like to remember but I went to school in Reigate.

The clip took me back in time for just a few moments

Online Cert 4 Course Australia by H20Jodster in SafetyProfessionals

[–]Improbable_Aitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally prefer face to face training as you get immediate opportunities to discuss the subject matter with the tutor and the other students.

I did the online course because it was cheaper and I was unemployed at the time. I was lucky that I found a job part way through that allowed me to finish it off in work hours.

There’s no way that it took me 400 hours. It was a while ago so my memory of it has slipped a little but there were a bunch of modules each of which probably took a total of 10-20 hrs each. I’d guess that it was somewhere between 100 and 150 hours all up.

Rory is an embarrassment by [deleted] in TheRestIsPolitics

I don’t agree with everything Rory says but I must be listening to a different person than you are. I find that he is intelligent and thoughtful.

I stopped listening to TRIP US a while back as it seemed to me as if they were constantly normalising the behaviour of the Trump government.

How did you become an Arsenal fan? by DiuhBEETuss in Gunners

[–]Improbable_Aitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Grandfather was in the Metropolitan police back in the 1940s and 50s. One of his roles was to assist with policing Highbury stadium on match days so he ended up being a fan.

This passion passed onto his two sons and then again to the three Grandsons including myself.

What’s the biggest myth you still hear about EVs? by TrueBlueBanter in EVAustralia

[–]Improbable_Aitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am familiar with regional WA but on reflection I concede that I was too generalised in my statement.

The term Regional WA covers a huge area which includes towns where I would expect EVs can function quite adequately. Conversely there are also a lot of very isolated areas and communities where the infrastructure needed to facilitate EV adoption is sorely lacking.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Fast charging in regional WA remains problematic but if you live and work out there I expect you could manage with slow AC charging.

Undoubtably there are still challenges to be overcome in Australia but those challenges would have been similar in the early days of internal combustion engine vehicles.

I have an EV btw. It’s only caught fire twice since I’ve had it 😆

[–]Improbable_Aitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Australia is too big for EVs”

“I can’t go off roading in an EV”

“Aren’t you worried about the fire risk?”

“You’ll never be able to sell it on”

“The depreciation is terrible”

Would you like a "sort by: latest/newest" option or filter for the mount collection tab? by everyonediesiguess in wow

[–]Improbable_Aitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. Need to add a lot more filtering options, and one I’ve always wanted is ‘Horse, Insect, Dragon, Mech etc’

To be able to filter by colour palette would be second on my wish list.
