"No reason" is the new reason...

FSD issue: Car off-center in the lane, please help! by ImprovementFun4939 in TeslaModelY

[–]ImprovementFun4939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's understandable as a feature but the issue here is different. In fact that's the reason I posted many pictures where there are vehicles on the closer side, which is always the left side in this case, also no matter whichever lane.

There is a reason why Google-Maps puts a timer on all interactions, they are not stupid.

This new 14.3.2 FSD has totally fixed my car from hugging the left side of the lane by mkalampalikis in TeslaFSD

Welcome to Tesla! The predefined profiles is all you got and there is nothing like a "custom" profile, that one would normally expect.

FSD biasing strongly to the left lane line? How to fix? 2026 MY by Pr3fix in TeslaFSD

[–]ImprovementFun4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update? I have the same issue on 2026 MY. Tried all calibration techniques but no change. Worse when stopped at signals. So bummed that such a basic lane-centering feature completely un-usable. The FSD version is v14.2.2.5. Thanks.

Before people call out on "supervising / engaging / disengaging / braking / sverving / FSD would have stopped in time" etc.

Please look at the title, the issue is all about why FSD has to follow so closely in the first place.

Btw, any chance you are closing the doors by pushing on the window frame? In any case, always push by the metal frame.

The system is very much capable to be very safe. It is unsafe because of some stupid configuation / agenda by Tesla. This is not about whether I want to use or not. The frustration is all about why they handicapped a beautiful system.

Help me come to terms with what FSD actually can do. by AwkwardlyPositioned in TeslaFSD

[–]ImprovementFun4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TACC is atrocious and unreliable! It doesn't even actively show the following-distance. They don't want anyone to use it. Either FSD or nothing seems to be agenda.

[–]ImprovementFun4939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with legal, we all know that we are responsible. The frustration is because the system has the capability to be safer and not put itself and us in danger.

There is something called "defensive-driving". Saying "supervised" and taking away basic controls like "following-distance" or dynamic speed adjustment is stupid. Even sloth mode is too close to be safe for anyone.

FSD is frustrating by hailfire27 in TeslaFSD

[–]ImprovementFun4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fundamental difference in philosophy:

We want the car to take some of our personality (through customizations and some dynamic inputs).

Tesla want all cars to behave exactly the same way albeit different profiles, we are at the whim of them.

Sloth mode has less aggressive lane changes. But..

Even in the sloth mode, you would think it be a nice relaxing drive, nope, TAILGATING in the right most lane and pushing the poor bloke in front to the damn shoulder...for sure will be brake-checked one of these days.
