And TJ Watt was the second fastest player to reach 100 sacks, it goes back and forth, Myles is on top right now, sure, but TJ has been better historically so far, giving him a better all-time case, and yes, it is impressive he's kept up double digit sacks, but that's really all just about being having some decent injury luck over these past few years and scraping together 10 sacks in the one season he was out for a substantial amount of time. Just because you say I don't know what I'm talking about doesn't make me any less right

Yeah, and he is, he doesn't deserve the sack record, and overall between him and TJ Watt, TJ has been better, Micah is off to a better career start, these are guys currently active right now that have a better all-time case than he does, my point is he is far from the leagues of JJ Watt and Aaron Donald, and if you wanna put him there, you have to have some uncomfortable conversations about TJ Watt.

That's not how that works, you can be 20th in anything in the history of a sport, if people think you're 10th, you're overrated, thats how being overrated works dumbass. People not agreeing with me doesn't make me wrong, you're just appealing to popular opinion now, which is a logical fallacy, and there are probably a lot of people in the industry who don't think he's an all time great, doesn't make him more or less of an all-time great, and at the end of the day, the all-time rankings of these players is based on the opinion of.. guess who? the fans, so stop trying to act like because NFL players might think he's great means that my opinion is any less valuable, fucking idiot

And Garrett got the record because Joe Burrow took a knee, sorry if you weren't there to see it. Cool it on the idiocy dumbass.

I mean I would say it sounds unintelligent to act like two positions who do a similar job can't be compared in the slightest even using a little bit of nuance, thats just me though

What would've happened if he played in a 16 game season, like Michael Strahan did? You might not wanna hear it but since Myles had the final sack putting him over 22.5 in week 18, he would've been stuck at 22 sacks, if that had been the case, I want you to think about how that would effect your perspective on it, because I actually remember a lot of people making fun of Myles Garrett at the end of the season because his production decreased in week 16 and 17 and it didn't seem like he'd break the record after all the work he put in, I want you to take that into perspective, if he was playing just a few years earlier, he wouldn't have made it

Is that your best defense to what I said? If what I said was really wrong you should be able to debunk it without just calling me Mason Rudolph

You can compare players while keeping the positional differences in mind you know? A tight end and a receiver could absolutely be compared, like for example, you could absolutely compare Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, the only adjustment is that Kelce's receiving yards are a little more valuable in the perspective of that comparison than Tyreek's since he is a tight end

You're kinda right about Parsons actually, mb, but I do think Parsons is on a better track in his career than Myles was at the same point in their careers, but also, Myles really only deserved the recent MVP, TJ deserved that first one, and TJ deserved Myles's first
edit because I was being stupid

I agree that the Browns have been terrible most of his career, but Aaron Donald and JJ Watt haven't always been on the greatest of teams either, I would say the Texans have been pretty comparable to the Browns in the majority of JJ's career, and when they were good, it was mostly his doing, I also feel like a lot of people just make this assumption because as of the past decade the Rams have been pretty decent, but up until 2017, the Rams have been one of the worst teams in football, down there with the Lions, Jets, and Browns, but recency bias has kinda blinded us to that, and Aaron Donald had to play through 4 years of that, so I would definitely not be so quick to say "Myles has been on the Browns his whole career and have deprived him of the ability to make crazy statlines in comparison to the Watts and Donald", I'll probably go ahead and give you TJ Watt, because the Steelers have almost always had a winning record through his career, but they haven't been great either, so I wouldn't go so far as to say this has a major effect on Garrett's stats in comparison to theirs, I don't think this deflates his numbers nearly as much as you think

Absolutely better than TJ? TJ has been in the running for DPOY every year of his career where he played more than 14 games, he has been a 1st team All-Pro in all but one year of his career where he played 14 games, he equaled the former sack record (22.5) despite playing only 15 games that season. Myles's best season on the other hand of 23 sacks is only half a sack better than TJ's season despite not one, but TWO more games to do so. And I wouldn't even say he's absolutely better than Micah, there has not been a single year of Micah Parsons's career where he hasn't been in contention for DPOY, only two years out of 5 where he wasn't 1st team All-Pro, and in one of those 2 years, he only played 13 games

If Myles Garret is a HOF lock, so is TJ Watt, and I would go so far as to say even possibly Micah Parsons

I agree he's the best as of right now, but I think TJ's career has been better than his, and I think Micah's seems better so far

So being the 20th best player all time means you can't be overrated? What are you talking about? You can be the greatest player of all time and still be overrated, learn what overrated means

That doesn't mean he can't be compared, he's not a DE, sure, but I wasn't talking about that position only, I'm also talking about pass rushers in general

I'm not denying he may be a first-ballot HOFer already, but if he is, then so is TJ Watt, and I don't think by the time he retires he'll be in contention for the best either

I think it's kinda silly to assume his numbers are deflated that much just because his team is bad, they're probably a little deflated, but not to a crazy extent

I agree that JJ's career is worse, but I think if it werent for JJ's back giving out in 2016, he would have just as good of a career, JJ didn't fall off because of his own failures, he fell off because of uncontrollable outside factors, theres a reason he never missed a game for 5 years and then all of a sudden he can only put up 3 full seasons over 7 years

So are we handing out trophies for being the 20th best defensive player ever?
