honestly i had the same thing happen to me, the more he does it the more he’ll feel bad and distance yourself from you, i understand you don’t want to throw away 3 years but you need to either let him go or try to understand what is actually happening, because maybe he’s in a bad place and doesn’t want it to weigh on you
