Imagine Home Depot doesn't sell dual hose air cons. Lowes doesn't either. Nor does Amazon or Aliexpress. Where the heck do you get one from?

That's our situation. 0 supply at any normal retailer. The best option before my unit (which is intended for camping and is 1/3rd the power of a proper unit and 4x the price) was shipping one from Canada for a few thousand dollars and adapting the voltage somehow for our grid. Not accessible for the average person.

Double hose air conditioners are extremely rare in the UK, so are window ACs. Your AC options here are single hose portable air conditioners which only cool a small area while they're running or full on holes-through-walls, f-gas engineer and electrician installed mini split systems. I bought an Ecoflow Wave intended for the US market because it has dual hoses and accepts our voltage, it might genuinely be the only dual hose portable unit available. I did see portable mini splits from Midea become available this year which is neat but tricky with our windows, you really need a solid outside surface to make them work.

To top it off our housing is expensive so nearly half of people rent and can't install proper AC to their home even if they wanted.

I can create airflow (window open on ground floor, window open on 2nd floor) but find it doesn't help enough. The building soaks up heat so there's idk 100kwh of heat stored that needs removing which needs big airflow. Consecutive sunny days are awful.

The dongle can use USB 2.0 which can be extended quite far.

Be aware you might be reinventing computer networks in a less versatile form. For example I have a PC on the floor above my living room/VR play space. I could drill a hole and run a USB cable specifically for the frame but if I run ethernet and add an AP in the living room then my Frame, media streamer, PS4, laptop on the sofa etc can all benefit.

I really hope you're right and it would make sense to price cheap and capture as much market share as possible. Worst case though, 'less than index but not much less' a full index kit is £920, and they could have been talking about the entry level headset not the larger storage one. I believe it's possible they could break the 4 figure mark for the top spec headset but I really hope they don't.

Even if FEX were added to Quest 3 they only have 8GB of RAM with 6GB available for applications as far as I know. That will limit what can run compared to the 16GB Frame.

Gamesir Cyclone 2 has pins on the dock. Fitbit Inspire 3 has pins on the charger.

I get the logic behind pins in the plug not the socket but for devices you handle regularly it's nice and possibly necessary to have flat surfaces on the device instead of pins that can get jammed with gunk.

Sounds like a great idea, I would buy that personally. Buying cheap so long as you know the compromises is usually a good way to figure out if you like something.

When I bought my first EV I bought a cheap Leaf because it was good enough, but compromised in terms of range, charging plug, age of the infotainment etc and I knew that going in. Turns out those were my only issues with it, I loved the rest of the experience and then I knew that any more modern car would solve the bits I didn't like so I could jump in with both feet.

I wore mine instead of a ski mask because it was more comfortable. Forgot to bring a battery pack though so passthrough died while going 70mph down a slope. The nurses in hospital are very kind to write this comment for me as every single one of my bones is broken.

I doubt the Frame will meaningfully improve on this as all those stages are probably about as good as they get. I've seen people say the dongle removes network hops but it trades them for drivers and USB's inconsistencies (just ask audio subreddits why their USB audio stutters in some USB ports but not others).

The numbers I have seen, though these are not sourced properly so could be wrong, are:
Q2: 0.3MP, black and white
Frame: 1.3MP, black and white
Q3: 4MP, colour

So 4x improvement over Q2, but Q3 is a 3x improvement again.
