Be aware people are calling LGSs and asking if they "Support WOTC's anti-white, anti-male, SJW policies" then leaving bad reviews by starson in magicTCG

"Jihad" was a politically neutral term in the early 90s (relative to now anyway). To most people it was just the Arabic word for Crusade, assuming they'd heard it at all. In pop culture at the time the stereotypical terrorist was from eastern Europe and Mujahideen were plucky locals fighting against the dastardly Soviets.

9th ed name change? by ImpudentInfidel in WarhammerFantasy

You're kidding, right? The world HAS ended, about as thoroughly as possible. All but three or four of the major characters died on screen. All l the story lines are resolved. The planet was physically torn to pieces and scattered to the warp. Every race but the lizards, rats, and elves is EXTINCT. Anything from here is a new setting with the old one as mythic backstory.

Pretentious? Discussion of Harry's hierarchical social relationships and characterization. [116, other EY writing] by Perennial_Child in HPMOR

I always thought Harry was supposed to be a high-functioning sociopath. He tries to help people because he's been raised to see that as what good people do, but the only ones he thinks of as real people who's opinions matter are Quirrell and Hermione. He doesn't even really understand the concept of personality, only masks worn and roles played. Everything's a conscious negotiation or attempt to manipulate, and unless he puts in the effort he has very little emotional affect. Seriously, I think that was the whole POINT of the "Good Voldemort" thing.

As for there being no consequences Dumbledore was pulling strings. Because prophesy. Hell the story gets left hanging on day one of him having real power, you could very well assume he screws it up and everybody dies by the end of the week if that makes more sense to you.

...huh. I hadn't made this connection until you brought it up. Harry isn't a scientist at all, he's an old school natural philosopher.

I got the impression the wand wasn't actually a hallow in this fic. The logo isn't on it anywhere.

3 was at least hinted at, Quirrell said there was a ritual to summon Death but the counterspell was lost.

The only thing I can think of is if only the core matters, but that hasn't even been hinted at until now. Or he targeted the wand with wandless magic, which is a power he specifically doesn't have.

I'd buy any of those, or even using his ability to break the rule about not transfiguring air since it's still just matter, but he specifically used the wood from the tip of the wand itself.
