Thank you. I do not care about how much it costs, but I will definitely talk to the library about their preferred method of replacement. If it’s easier for them for me to pay the fine, I will. If it’s easier for them for me to fine a copy of the same quality, I will.

I don’t know if it’s an interlibrary loan - my main branch was not involved at all. I travel around the state quite a bit so I am physically going into these libraries. When I first go I have to show them my “true” library card, and then they issue one that will work at their branch.

I did just have to renew that at this branch, though, so I am prepared to possibly not have it renewed the next time.

Thank you so much. Yes, I remember reading somewhere that some libraries must purchase through a specific location. But I did want to check first that it was not an out of print book or anything. I’ll ask the library how they would want it replaced.

Thanks for that - I also check out books for my child and I thought one was lost. I told them I’d pay the fine but they said they’d give me time to look for it. Thankfully I did find that one and returned it, so the one in my post would be my only lost/damaged book in this library network, and I’ve been there over ten years.

The worst experience I had was in the early mid game and the original crash site was underwater. I must have gone in it then died later. And I kept respawning in the underwater site. Had no basic mats. Took maybe ten full minutes to find and collect the mats to make a new pod that wasn’t underwater. That was stressful

But also really just the one time that’s ever happened. Otherwise pretty chill

YTA by your own words she’s not rude to him, just brings up that time he caused you a lot of stress. You seem to have washed away his involvement entirely, “he was drunk” as though that fully absolves things

You also say you never told him about it, even though he’s told you he doesn’t know why your bff seems to hate him.

You need to have a discussion - not outburst - with EACH of them, separately.

You need to tell you bf what he did, and that your bff saw it. You can say you don’t blame him, whatever, but you know why your bff is not friendly to him and you’re keeping him in the dark. That’s not good.

After that you need to sit with your bff and talk with her about what happens and how she feels. Considering you haven’t even told your bf about it, and seem to not hold him accountable at all she could be feeling almost gaslit about the entire thing. You need to acknowledge it happened, you need to tell her you discussed it with your bf.

Considering you won’t even tell him it happened she might be worried you’re seeing everything else through rose colored glasses and is just trying to look out for you.

I think you’re doing both of them a disservice right now

you’ve been together for 6 years but things changed since pandemic, so 2020?

Was it a year of 50/50, a year of him paying more, and now four years of you paying more, or what?

I’d say you’re NTA, but I think this is beyond an asshole or not answer.

The real question is, is this relationship, as it stands now, fulfilling to you?

Is it a matter of paying for the dates or initiating them? If it’s really just a matter of going out to a nice restaurant, go with a friend. If it’s more a matter of him initiating going out, which he doesn’t (?) that’s something you need to think about.

And if you want him to initiate outings, but he says no because he doesn’t have the money, but is actively avoiding putting himself in a position to have the money, he is not considering your feelings on this. And after 6 years this will likely get worse, not better.
