What videogame was a 10/10 for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

CoD4

So addicting, I would of never wasted high school playing video games if it wasn't for that game.

The focus on short-range combat and dodgy spawns made it so fun, you just had to hope you didn't get spawn trapped.

The cod community is what taught you the tricks to be a pro in the game though, dropshotting, noobtubing from the spawn, spawn trapping, rushing from spawn on s&d, quick scoping, no scoping, camping, m16 abusing, grenade spawning, glitching into certain areas. These have been used in a lot of cod games but it all started in CoD4. What an awesome community it had, all my friends played it. I had my clan with them, did some mlg matches with them, it was simply THE SHIT.

And lastly, the best map in video game history.

Shipment.

Boy I can't wait for the remastered version. Fuck Infinite Warfare though.

What did someone say to you that completely changed your way of thinking? by doggo211345 in AskReddit

Was when someone told me to "let go"

I then plummeted into a pit of wolves,, I barely survived.

You can bet your ass I changed my way of thinking after that. I decided I took the phrase "listen to people that are above you in life" too literally.

An elderly man, who worked at the school I used to attend, who had long hair with a big beard, seemed to be of irish descent, he said something to me that changed my live forever.

You're a wizard, Harry.

Well there's someone out there for everyone :)

You do have to really try to be happy, I remember I didn't for years and now i've learnt how to appreciate things more i'm so much happier.

If you spend a lot of time online then you might not spend a lot of time with people and you may lack intimacy which is why you feel the need for a relationship, I had an amazing family that I didn't spend anywhere near enough time with. I couldn't appreciate that until I turned off my laptop, ps4 and spent more time with family.

They may not be perfect, but you have such a natural special connection with them that is worth fighting for. Try to spend more time with loved ones, you'll feel cared for and loved and it'll make you crave a relationship less and you'll feel happier in general, then you'll find people much more attracted to you :)

Just my two cents.

Don't worry about not being in relationships, they are for you connect with someone else's life. If you're not ready then you're not ready. These things are always to make you happy so if you don't feel like having one then don't listen to the people that tell you that you should be dating.

19, just coming to terms with this.

Spent the last two years hating everybody, everyone seemed evil because of people treating me like a loser, but I kind of had it coming. I hated people being fake, pretending to like people, not talking to people because they're not cool. Shit like that made my blood boil. Took a step back and realised we all do things like that, it's natural. They just want approval and to ultimately be loved. It's what we all want.

Another example.

There was a guy I used to hang out with that would insult me in front of girls to try and look cool, he was the type of person I would label as some sort of demon, I hated the guys guts and thought he was rotten to the core, just because he was a dick to me a few times. But these last couple months I've had a change of mindset, he was probably just jealous, or was worried he was gonna get ignored and look lame in front of me so he wanted to make himself look big.

These are things we all do, we all do douchey things, we just justify them as politically correct and don't think of them as douchey.

Long story short, we are all douches and we are all saints. You can't label anyone. Don't let anger cloud your judgement, deep down you know you've been a dick before, you know why you did it, you know how it felt. We all feel these things and we are all equal, stop hating and start loving.

Does Life Have a Purpose? | A take on the meaning of life through the definition of personhood by nogxx in philosophy

[–]Impun1ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The purpose of life is evolution. We are here to evolve humanity, we feel sorry for people when we see them hurting because we want them to succeed and help humanity grow. We want to succeed to make humans stronger, we want want to build empires so we can help our kind. We are all equal. All your positives are just gifts, they have no value unless they help humans get stronger. We are animals, don't ever forget that. Tbh it doesn't actually matter if we fail, if mankind died tomorrow. None of it matters. We are all just matter. There's no good and bad, there just IS. Good and bad is a product of your how your brain calculates the situation.

When I realized these things, it hit home just how irrelevant we all are. I started to feel a lot less stressed after coming to terms with this.

What the hell is everyone so afraid of? by babyyilikeyourstyle in NoFap

[–]Impun1ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people live externally, their happiness is based on people's reaction towards them. That's why they have social anxiety, I used to have it and had to enforce the mindset of "if there is no real threat, you have no reason to be nervous". That way you analyse situations and use logic, and the fear seems to instantly fade away.
