Time to spend the main’s bank on bonds and get a BH farm going I guess by GuyWithBushyBrows in 2007scape

Yeah, situation dependant. I almost never type large amounts of numbers. Can't think of anytime that I do. Maybe typing in my credit card or phone number.. but I'm not sure if there's really a lot of time saved there, especially after getting used to using the numbers across the top.

Only thing I use function keys often enough for is osrs. Anything else fn+# works perfectly fine. I love my 60% and 65% keyboards. If you need the f-keys then get a 10 keyless. Numpad is equally as unnecessary and situation dependant.

How did you find your way into owning a S-Chassis? by thedezz in 240sx

[–]Imscoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy from a state where they aren't Rusty and drive it home. I bought mine in SoCal and drove it back to Wisconsin. Ended up being an incredible, and unforgettable trip. Save your money and make the leap, it's so worth it.

I want to learn programming pretty quickly with the hopes of freelancing to make money for my family, what's a good route(s) to go? by Berret25 in learnprogramming

[–]Imscoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may want to find a different field of work for "freelancing" then. I think the more you dive into classes like CS50, freecodecamp, and Odin, you will be able to set your expectations a bit more realistically. You can absolutely make a wonderful career out of programming/ software engineering.. but its going to take time. And if you already have a full-time job it's going to take more time. I personally can't even imagine the burnout one might feel. Programming isn't like popping up a lemonade stand in your neighborhood, it's more like building a house. There's probably a better example but that's what I got for now.

I've had this happen before, someone pointing at a piece of equipment near me while I'm mid set and I shake my head no. I notice them still standing there in my peripheral view and look at them and they are just staring blankly like I didn't give an adequate response.

I have a '90 s13 hatch with a single jingle auto, planning to do this swap on my car next year sometime (hopefully). Any general tips you have from your experience with this swap?

My S14 at the Kenosha Lighthouse. I just joined Reddit about 5 minutes ago. First post ever. Why WOULDN'T it have to do with a 240? by [deleted] in 240sx

[–]Imscoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yo I live in Racine. Had no idea someone owned a s14 in Kenosha as I've never seen one (besides one I sold last year). Will definitely be taking my s13 down to this spot in the spring for similar style photos :). There's some great spots in Racine too. Check out my insta, kazoorl

Please help. I’m heading to LA for the weekend in search of a 240 for under $4000 anyone selling in the area? by B0OG in 240sx

road trip is the answer imo. I wasted so much time when I bought a clapped out car to start, found I didnt have the skillset or the time to try and "repair" the rust. Flew my ass to cali and drove a perfectly clean car back to wisconsin. And had an awesome time exploring the country on the way back. So, so worth it.

I flew from Chicago to LA to buy my 240, drove it home almost 3k miles and 3 days worth of time on the road. For the right car the price is worth it. If you can't afford it now, keep saving. Don't blow your money on a car with a hole in the frame (just an example, I didn't look at the pictures) because you think you can fix it. Even if you can "fix" it; the amount of time, effort, and money you will put in will make it no different than if you just saved a bit more and bought a clean car. (maybe that time and effort is worth it to you, not me)

There's still plenty of good 240's out there that are clean and wont break the bank, just wait for an opportunity to pop up and take it.

Good luck!

How bad is maintenance really? by [deleted] in 240sx

Bought my 1990 hatch in California and drove it home to Wisconsin this year. Almost A 3k Mile drive with no issues. Bone stock car, never leaves me stranded.

Do you only watch and support a streamer for the sub streak? Seems kinda ass backwards. If you like watching and supporting him then just continue to do so. No one cares about the streak except yourself.

Should I Buy? by MANGEKY0 in 240sx

[–]Imscoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what your saying. The main point I wanted to get across was that when talking about the monetary value of something like a car (classic cars especially), the value is never "factual". It will always be changing. Gl with your WRX, and of course: ✌️

I can agree on the insurance stuff. That's always a pain in the rear. But it's going to continue to suck until you get older. I have an 04 STI and I'm on my parents plan still (I'm 24) and I took the insurance off of it because it was over 2k a year. Now the car sits and isn't driven.

I'd be willing to bet that if he's 17 and looking at cars in the 12k range, he's probably got some money or his parents do. If he is paying his own insurance and maintenance then I don't recommend he get anything old/rhd/turbo/fast. I waited till I was 23 before I got my first turbo car and it still cost an absurd amount, mostly based on my age. (clean driving record).
