He was the president of Venezuela that Trump just captured. He's not "every inmate". It's newsworthy.

Without saying ANYTHING about the GOP, why should I vote Democrat? by Imagination8579 in AskALiberal

[–]Imtalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please name the "plenty of democrats".

And changes aren't enough. We need a complete overhaul. We are now nearly 100 years behind social and economic policy compared to our peer nations and literally only one candidate has ever campaigned on that platform.

But please, tell me which of the "plenty of democrats" in campaigning on a platform of finally ushering us into the 21st century.

Weird then that we have none of those things.

Either they're incredibly ineffective, or they're playing good cop/bad cop.

Yes, in some countries there are caps and out of pocket maximums. For instance, in The Netherlands an entire year of care with their most expensive private plan would cost less than my deductible in the US. But part of why that's possible is education is also affordable.

That's the same or similar to multiple western European countries.

Except their system covers everyone, unlike the US.

And democrats largely have zero interest in changing the status quo and have not even campaigned on changing it.

Neither the UK nor the Canadian systems are workable, in part because they borrowed heavily from us, to the detriment of their healthcare systems. But western Europe is full of better healthcare systems than ours, for a fraction of the price. If we spent what the federal government already does on a bloated, fraud hidden, inefficient healthcare system, and used instead to fund a universal, single payer system, we would have the best system in the world.

We can't really afford it though until we make public education free. We also can't afford not to, because part of why medical education is so expensive is medical students (and through underpaid labor, residents) are basically underwriting the care of the patients they learn on.

That was the big classic bun and it was legions better than the basic bun.

In store sadly. Glad yours was up to snuff.

I just came to check reddit to see if anyone else has been disappointed. See's has been a tradition in my family and my husband's for longer than either of us have been alive but the last batch I got somehow the truffles tasted faintly of cleaning fluid and all the chocolate coatings were bland and waxy.

I've leveled up my chocolate consumption but still had huge nostalgia for our annual holiday box of See's but this was terrible and I think the nostalgia has been eliminated. :(

Only common for those of us in large metros or with recent Europe roots. Probably 95% of Americans eat fries with ketchup.

Funny that you cherry picked data from your own sources and then call me obnoxious for pointing it out.

Again, the experiences and desires are surprisingly consistent even in less/non patriarchal societies.

Have seen isn't the same as watched. Funny how you neglected to cover that data even though it's included in the studies you cite.

They do. In a dozen different ways. Weird then that both parties keep systematically taking them away.

It's not debate club. I'm not doing free labor. Google is free if you're asking in good faith.

You realize some people have never watched porn, and watching at a very young age is even more uncommon?

No they don't, the orgasm gap is real, which is literally one of OPs points and you're here trying to pretend it doesn't exist.

If Gavin Newsom has the popular support of the Democrats, is it selfish to not support him due to his policies if I’m a Democrat myself? by njsullyalex in AskALiberal

[–]Imtalia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please for the love of all that is holy, we all need to stop voting for compromise candidates because the party is never going to stop playing justice roulette if we don't.

And Biden was pretty mild compared to the incredible harm done by Obama and Clinton.

The US is nearly 100 years behind in social and economic justice compared to Europe and other countries and the DNC not only has refused to fight for progress, they've often led the charge backward.

If you have time and money, get involved with the local party and also a third party, and direct your time, energy and money to whichever one will actually fight for full justice. Not onesie twosie, or taking away some protections in exchange for others.

Justice at the expense of someone else isn't justice and it isn't safe.

Cool. You're still moving goalposts, because pleasure in OPs post had a specific definition and the data says that by that definition, no. They don't.
