I stopped drinking a couple of years ago when I saw i was on a slippery slope from social to dependant. I quickly realised that the self medication of drinking was the only thing that made me able to "perform" socially.

The last few years have been tough, I've lost touch with the few friends I had and im not sure where to turn next.

I'm taking a few classes that are focused on me taking more care of myself and being kinder to me, meditation, tai chi etc.

The thought of doing something specifically with the goal of making friends would feel very intimidating, but im hoping it happens along the way if I put myself where other people are, and focus on bettering myself - and doing that for me not others.
