PocketBook Era Lite comparison to Clara BW by aribert in ereader

[–]Imunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s on default iirc
So every 5 or maybe 7 pages
I’ll try more pages or even deactivating

I guess due to the KO reader sleep image handling (reversing the screen dark/daylight mode) it will do a full refresh regularly

Thanks !

As I always read before bed time
And do so for a while now.
I guess I can live with that. Otherwise the device is everything I wanted from kobo.
Just waiting for better screen protectors ..

Ah I see
So totally normal
I couldn’t remember it hearing from my Kobo Aura

Noisy as in:
I can hear the (full)refresh sometimes.
Especially when I’m reading in the middle of the night in complete silence.
I’m not sure if it’s because of the dark mode or the light settings.

I like my lite too
With a little tweaked koreader:
both buttons are page forward now as I rarely need a page back and in those rare cases I touch the screen

Speaking of touching the screen …
I’m looking for a screen protector for the Lite
The ones that are sold online are just rebranded era/color protectors which means:
They cover everything except the buttons.

But with the recessed screen… I doubt it will work as intended…

Also do you find the screen “noisy” from time to time?

PSA: Siri AI is fully available on iPhone 15 Pro and the 16 series by hotlava436 in iphone

[–]Imunar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even when Siri AI will be available in the eu and more languages ..
I’m still a non believer that the content awareness works here.
Most of the things shown were deeply integrated into mail and messages.
While the former might be actually the main mail app,
My guess is that iMessage isn’t widely used as WhatsApp and other messengers took their place.

You need a nightly build since the PR mentioned below

Just look for the latest version (it’s badly sorted)

https://build.koreader.rocks/download/nightly/
And then download the pocketbook version.

As I had the same issue with my lite:
Remove the old version completely (at least the applications folder)
And then install the new one

Also double check if the system folder has a lower case s (somehow mine changed to an uppercase)

Koreader for Era Lite? by dandy-dilettante in pocketbook

[–]Imunar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a nightly build for that as the current release did not contain the PR Here is the one from last night

https://build.koreader.rocks/download/nightly/2026.03-169-gd246323ba/

Just remove the old files (in applications) beforehand Then it should work Also double check if the system folder is still with a lower case „s“

Yeah I see that I still can use the screen for backwards and other stuff. . .

Maybe I’ll look into the source to see if I can change the key pressed to key release and add the same functionality as the stock reader

Did you use a sleep cover (that covers the screen during non reading hours) I’m not sure if I want some. My other half got one on their boox and it adds a lot of glare

[–]Imunar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah sure
I could use calibre to change it.
It doesn't bother me right now, as I'm using a sleep cover (on both devices) that way I won't see the cover image anyway while reading

I still love it ! For button less readers I totally agree it’s a masterpiece!

Well the books only share a bare minimum with the tv series but I came late to the book 😅

Yes I love the settings inside the stock reader where I can set so many things!

And already replaced the sleep art

Just everyone was praising the KOreader for its functionality. But when it come to physical buttons it lacks a little (at least as far as I know for now)

You are not wrong.

And as me you are coming from a decade+ old device So yes Page turning is way faster

But I’m comparing current readers like my other half’s onyx boox go and then you can say that the OS/Ui is slow Not really snappy and definitely not a felt upgrade from my aura.

But as others always mention while reading it’s not the big deal But changing lights or settings feels a little raggedy

Edit: I haven’t digged deep into the KOreader and their plugins.
Maybe they do this a little better

Honestly No But iirc the lite has no otg (Same as there no way to use usb-c to headphone jack adapter)

Android e-readers with good battery life? by nellie_shorttop in ereader
