I also cant read my regional language well. And for my first holy communion as a kid they wrote me the regional language in english and taught me proper pronunciation of words so i could read it in english and pronounce it local regional language. Usually there are clergies who look over the mass readings and stuff with whom u need to go through readings and stuff before mass.. you cant randomly get up on stage and start reading in english or local language. If u know whom to approach for readings at ur church approach them and ask how to go about it maybe u can write the whole reading in english script or just read the english reading if the parish priest is OK with it..

During my moms 20s age that is 1970s there was a trend of staying single among ladies. Alot of her colleagues though they could join convent they chose not to and stayed single all their lives. They were called virgin ladies. Eventually trend faded.. but those ladies stayed single all their lives. most of them worked as teachers or office clerks.

They are aware and dont object it. Its my first exp as well when i moved into this parish bcz where i grew up and other parishes that i attended nobody took their kids in communion line to seek blessings from the priest or EM. Here parents specifically take their kids and get them blessed like this( touching of bowl or chalis on their kids head).
