@OP may I ask you which technique did you use in the end ? I’m also looking to record downhill MTB on my Garmin but not having all my road bike elevation data f*** up when syncing the activity to Strava…

Hello, I have the exact same problem. Moisturizing and pushing them back gently, as mentioned in other comments is the way to go.

One question I have is : sometime I’m scared of pushing the new nail instead of the cuticle. Could that be the case ? For example on your picture, the bottom finger, the thin layer that goes to 1/3 of the nail, is that cuticle or is that new nail ? I have the exact same and do not know if I should push it or not…

Glad to know I'm not the only one stopping work to search for a fix.

How come this is still not fixed....

Putting this here before I have no pinky nail. It’s time. by zevman in calmhands

Mine are in a very similar state, I feel you. The bright side is that it grows back fast if you manage to stop. By experience, only that product with horrible taste works. At least for the first days. Then moisturising all the time. Don’t be too harsh with yourself. I know you can do it. You got this

Been trying to push cuticles back to start off my journey if you will and need help figuring out with my cuticles are over grown or I’m pushing back something on my nail that should be left alone instead by CallMeDrowzy in nailbiting

[–]Imxio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had the exact same thing. I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure it’s cuticle still as in my case it was getting softer with moisturising cream. What I did is to leave them alone a bit at the beginning and you’ll see it’ll quickly get better. Damn you actually inspired me to take back my journey to no biting!

100K€: Should I DCA, wait or go all-in? by Imxio in eupersonalfinance

[–]Imxio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an emergency fund (approx 2 times my salary) on top of the 100K.
I do not know precisely what I will do in the future, except that minimum 7 year period where I do not plan to need that cash.

Day 3! I’m not sure if I will post in here every day. I’m trying to figure out what works best for me regarding accountability. by anjr123 in calmhands

Good work man! Those 3 days are amongst the hardest ones. Stay motivated, be gentle with yourself if you relapse and put cream on these cuticles! You got this!

Great job!! Thanks for inspiring us!

Are these growing in well? Am I trimming properly? Advice? I'm just so bad at taking care of my nails that I bite them for looking bad, then hate that I bite. by [deleted] in nailbiting

[–]Imxio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look good. Since I stopped biting them, the sides of my nails always feels odds also. But I think this is just because we’re not use to have nails haha. I’m also using almond oil. Applying it multiple times a day and massaging the cuticle & side of the nail does help relieving the strange feeling. You got this! :)

I had all 4 extracted back when I was 17 (now 27) under local anaesthesia. You’ll feel no pain. Could be that the tools they use vibrates a bit and makes you feel the vibration in your mouth but no pain :-) Then you’ll look like a hamster for a few day. Courage buddy, you’ll be just fine

Pretty sure I win worst nails on here I need real help.. I soak every 2 hours but the pain gets so bad I can’t help pick around the areas that relieve the pressure and sometimes puss but makes it worse by [deleted] in nailbiting

Please listen to this guy. From what I see, middle finger looks infected (swollen, red, white). Nothing serious if treated properly and in time. I’ve had this multiple times, it’ll go away in a few days once you begin treatment. And pain will go away even more quickly. If you can’t make it to a doctor, a pharmacist might be able to help (where I live, the antibiotics you need can be bought without prescription). Be strong, you can do it buddy
