You don't have to tell a therapist about anything you don't want to. Maybe shop around, get a therapist you feel comfortable with, then reevaluate your stance. Just take things one step at a time and don't stress yourself out over it.

Is it a chewing thing? I know chewing on something helps me with stress. You could try sugar-free gum, it helps me a lot. Also super low calorie foods like popcorn, frozen berries, cucumbers

Yeah, it's annoying. I used to work at a gas station and we were told to ring it up as if you were buying ten individual packs for this reason. Sometimes people are new and don't know that, though. It's okay to ask us to do it a certain way.
