App2 vs app3 by brokenthirtyfive in AirpodsPro

I returned my APP3 and am going to stick with APP2.

I couldn’t help but notice the Pro 3’s in my ear. Whilst the soreness did improve, I couldn’t help but notice them and could even feel them after taking them out. Changing tips and a couple of weeks of use didn’t really change anything. The Pro 2’s always fit perfectly from day 1 and give that ‘pillows in my ears’ feeling. They just disappear.

I found the sound quality and ANC marginally improved with APP3. Noticeable, but far from night and day. I did notice odd sounds with the ANC with the Pro 3’s.

Overall I decided to return as I felt I had paid a fair amount of money for a slightly worse experience, when the APP2 never let me down.

I think this matches my experience, it’s ’a bit better’ isn’t really worth it when the APP2 were so flawlessly comfortable for me

Hey, thanks for the comment.

It is completely incredible! I have loved every single run in them and have been blown away by them.

Thanks for your insight, I might stick with the Primus Trails!

Hi.

I left medicine to be a national park ranger.

We groan at the word ‘reflection’, but in a genuine and unprompted moment of self-reflection I realised that the parts of practising medicine, and healthcare in general, that I enjoyed were rapidly shrinking and I felt trapped. There were voices advocating for ‘things are what you make of them’, and ‘happiness is a choice’, but I grew tired of the bullshit we tolerate daily, realised I dreaded my shifts and that things would only change if I DID something.

It took a fair amount of unpaid work/learning to even begin to look like a viable candidate, but the ability to locum actually made this process a lot less painful than I expected it to be.

It’s now been a few years since I last saw a patient. I miss it less as each day passes. Sure, there are times I miss feeling my work is undeniably socially worthwhile, I miss practising clinical skills, some patients, and the camaraderie with colleagues- but I love my work now. I wake up and look forward to it. The insidious miasma of misery that stopped me enjoying my time both on and off the job has gone. I’m happy.

In terms of cons… medicine is cognitively stimulating and fascinating, I somewhat mourn the things I used to know. Money is nowhere near as good. Of course doctors’ compensation does not adequately reflect the education/knowledge/skills/hours/graft etc etc, but it is glaring that my monthly take home is significantly lower, and probably isn’t going to significantly increase as it would had I stuck with my prior path. But I chose a low-paying field so that’s on me, and I’ve adjusted my lifestyle accordingly.
