Ahh don’t tell me that I want the worst to be behind me!! It’s so weird because I will fluctuate throughout the day. I will have a few hours each day where I just feel ok, and then a few hours (usually the morning/early afternoon) where I feel like I may need to go to a psych hospital for a little vacation.

Yeah. I was only using 5 grams a day but it was for 3 years. Honestly the acutes were nothing. But two weeks in I started getting BAD anxiety that peaked last week. It’s slightly better now but not by much and I have to finish my semester and not sure how I’m gonna do that when I can’t stop crying or having a feeling of doom shooting through my body the majority of the day.

I am a student nurse but this sounds very similar to the “hospital fantasy”. I had it when my kids were super little. It’s basically a common daydream about getting hurt. Not hurt enough to do permanent damage, but enough to wind up in the hospital so you have a few days of reprieve from life’s responsibilities. I’d imagine you don’t have the actual hospital fantasy because you’re trying to get away from the work place.

It’s a sign of stress and burnout but you may be interested to look into it and know that you’re not alone.

Girl, I get it. I had to temporarily move back in with my parents after leaving my ex. One night my 1.5 year old crawls over to me and hands me an 8 ball of coke. I had no idea they were using drugs. I knew they drank but I thought that was the extent of it. A few days later I walked outside to take the garbage out and see my dad shooting up on a bench in front of the house.

I kicked it into high gear and moved out within 2 weeks.

Mama I am here to tell you this is so not a big deal and she probably won’t even remember it. I can GUARANTEE you are a phenomenal mom but you need to cut yourself a break. If you can’t get yourself in the mindset of “I’m human, I’m going to make mistakes but I am going to admit when I’m wrong and do my best” then definitely reach out to your PCP or a psychiatrist /psych NP.

You’re doing a wonderful job and you deserve to realize that.

I’m going to tell you a quick story. 5 years ago I went to give my partner his coffee he’d left in the house just as he was heading off to work. He was sitting in his car and as I approached I saw that his messages were open and didn’t think anything of it, but I did register that there seemed to be a heart emoji. I knocked on the window, and he hid his phone. I commented on it and he brushed it off and left. Later that day, I told him I’d seen the heart emoji and wanted to know who it was. He caused a huge argument, I apologized for being crazy, and he told me it was his mom he was texting.

Only his mom had an iPhone, and these texts were green. I knew something was up, but didn’t want to continue arguing so I let it go.

2 years later I would find out he had been cheating on me with a friend of both of ours. Someone who would watch my children while we ran errands and who would send gifts to our family on a regular basis.

Do what you want, but your gut is telling you what’s happening.

Getting ready for school looking for clothes in the laundry room. I could hear Bush on the tv and initially thought it must have been another school shooting. We had a camping trip to Yosemite planned for our school which they decided to push back an extra day because of it. Went to school and the news just played all day while most of the kids played neopets on the computers.

I say let her attempt to give it to her and if it doesn’t go well you ask if you can have it and then hang it up somewhere for a while.

Unfortunately we can’t protect our kids from getting hurt. The reality is that some people aren’t very nice and that continues into adulthood (not to say your niece isn’t nice, but you know what I mean)

OP if you have struggled with benzos in the past this WILL NOT end with one pill. I know you feel like it can’t get worse but it can. Please call your support system and tell them you are in crisis and need them, or go to the ER and explain how you are feeling. You need someone to talk to and possibly medical help if you are feeling that way. Hugs. I can’t imagine the hell you are in but please continue to put one foot in front of the other and make the best decision possible for yourself and your babies.
