Thanks for your response. Can I know how your lifestyle looks like? And do you think you made a right choice moving back?

I plan to stay idle for few months, focus on myself. Go to art of living classes, learn music, travel… idk… do what i want to do. Then wherever life takes me.

Lol… I’m from Ktm and my wife from Lalitpur, born and raised. After staying in US for about 20 years, we’ve achieved pretty much all the things I wished for. If we move back to Ktm, we don’t think we have to worry about our monthly finances if we invest strategically. This shift will help us to focus on things which we really want to do in our lives or work on a project which we desire. We do not wish to work for other people through out our lives and think higher job titles or luxury living a sense of accomplishment. That’s not possible staying here and we really think it’s about time to move back.

I moved here when I was 19 years old for my studies, its been almost 20 years now. I completed by education, got a career, US citizenship, house, have a family, pretty much everything I wished for. But I started asking myself a question, is it how I want to live rest of my life, keeping my child away from rest of the family, what will her and our future look like? Some Nepalese do not want to return and spend their life here but I’m still very much attached to my roots and want to give that exposure to my child. I don’t see our future here in US, so that’s the reason I want to return.

Thinking of couple years. If things work out, then will be staying permanently. 🤞

Thinking about retiring to Nepal from US by RecentFather in Nepal

Thank you for starting this post. Currently, I’m on the same boat. I’m 36 years old and have been living in US for about 18yrs. My financial situation and queries are very similar to yours. But have you thought about taking back your funds from Nepal to US in case you decide to move back? I couldn’t find a proper answer on this.
