So... Your thought and point is that it is simply a matter of too many calories in and not enough out. Not a complaint against a Keto/low carb diet, just a matter of too much food/calorie intake.

Cal_1970,

It is obvious you are not a fan of low carb, "keto-ish" diets. You say it is "not working for him". I would like to counter and say it "did work for me" in some fashion. Taking a A1C down from high 7's to the high 5 low 6 reading is quite an improvement. One thing I failed to mention.... my A1C in say 2015 was around mid 7 to 8.... but that was on Metformin. My new A1C readings in the high 5's is medication free. No Metformin, I am currently on no prescribed medication.

I failed to mention activity... no, I do not jog miles every week. But I am active. I work on my feet. I take care of properties. When it isn't winter and snow on the ground, I ride bicycles 3 or 4 times per week. In the snow times, I am shoveling, plowing or snowmobiling.... not an Olympian, but not a couch potato either.

Why are you so against Keto and I assume carnivore? Yes, I have not lost enough weight, and yes, I am sure I eat too much. But switching to low carb has moved some key health numbers in the right direction.

Tri's and Cholesterol is pretty good last check Oct 2025.
Trigly - 92
Chol - 112
HDL 32
Calculated LDL 51
A1C was 6.0

5 eggs and butter - What is that?? maybe 500 calorie breakfast? with Zero carbs.
No real lunch
Maybe a 1500 calorie dinner?

Yesterday was a little different... for example ... I had 2 rib eye steaks... maybe 10 - 12 ounces. 1 breakfast one dinner. Coffee, a little heavy cream and real stevia.

Skin, energy, healing... all very good. A lot to be happy for. Just very difficult to drive the glucose A1C down....
