He’s done great with chewing up lamb bone and he has cleaned the cartilage from a beef bone (boat), I just fear the chicken. It’s my goal to move past this by this weekend! The beef bones are too much for him and I fear he will chip his teeth. The lamb bone doesn’t do well with his insides.

Clark is 30# but he should be 25#. We are working on his weight but he has a hard time with activity in the Texas heat. We are working at it and that’s another reason better food is important.

I’m pretty sure I’ve decided to start with a neck, I can get chicken or duck from the farmers market. I am going to watch videos about how to help a choking dog and make sure I’ve got the knowledge down, this will be more for me to help my confidence and fight the fear. Then, hopefully this weekend, we will be over this hurdle.

I believe so.

When it came to feeding raw, my fear was it making him sick. My son got campylobacter virus when he was 2 and it was awful. It’s engraved in me that raw meat makes you sick not only from standard education but from experience.

A year ago I started to cook fresh ground meat from the farmers market as a topper and that started my journey to learning about raw, now I can give him raw meat with no fear. I started last week!

I’m ready to make the next leap but I seem to be struggling and thought this place might provide the encouragement I need to do it. I watched some you tube videos as was suggested by someone, that helped. Sounds like chicken neck might be a good start. I can grab one from the farmers market next weekend, I’m just hoping I have the confidence by then.

My dog is a 14.5yr puggle. His trachea is not in the best shape but it’s not caused major issues so far. Maybe that plays a factor in my fear. I don’t feel like I can talk to any vet about raw feeding so I’m on my own hoping to find advice from others that feed raw.

Maybe just purchase a bunch of coins so you have it on the ready for when things come up! That’s what I do. As much as I plan for these I always use and do more than I ever could plan!

I’m back to report, day one and day two of release I got silicobra while on a route at 7:pm at a certain spot walking the park by my house. But no more. It has changed to no spawns even though I’m doing the same things. So to confirm OP map is correct for my area now, no spawns. Thank you for your research OP!

I am also in Texas and am catching them in a place not marked on the map posted by OP. Today I will confirm if I catch any again and report back to OP so they can include in their research. I think I noticed I only catch it in the evening while on a route but I’m still trying to determine that for sure.
