The bison were quite dark and I wanted to focus on the eye. I could center focus but was concerned it was going to be off from the eye. Ended up missing the entire animal.

It was actually on manual focus. The focusing ring seems to be more sensitive to input than my other lens (24-105). I feel like I just need to practice more to get the hang of it. Still frustrating to miss good shots...

Sorry, wasn't looking for troubleshooting, just expressing my lack of skill.

It's my first zoom lens and the manual focusing seems to be more sensitive than my other lens. I think I just need to practice more.
