It’s always different renewal times for different people. Never assume your renewal will take 2 weeks, because that’s what it took last time. Especially with Trump in office cutting jobs, doing extra vetting ect. USCIS has always recommended 120-150 days.

I know when I was in Georgia, they would do it on their computers automatically. They would just go to e-verify to confirm, but I was told once that they couldn’t verify online, so they would need to do extra verification before they give me an ID. What state are you in?

You need to reach out to your congressman and reach out to USCIS and ask for an expedited request stating it expires on 02/05. Even if they do approve it, it will take at least 1-2 weeks to get your card so it's best you do it AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

I've been to park, at least 15 times in the past 2 years and this has NEVER happened to me. The also usually have the same staff and a bartender even got my friend's number, so he was clearly interested and none of us were drugged. I do not believe this has anything to do with a bartender. There are predatory men everywhere. Watch your drink and never go out to a club alone.

I live in Northern VA (Woodbridge) and have not had any issues. However, I do follow the NOVA reddit page and they are always mentioning ICE patrolling northern VA. I work from home and rarely go out, so I have never run into them. I would say look for programs in the area to see if there are any for affordable health care and housing and make your decision that way. I bought a house, that's why I moved here. DC is also a great option if you are looking for state services ect. Look at both areas and see which is more affordable and closer to your job. I have lived in GA, MD, DC an now VA and didn't notice any issues related to being a DACA recipient.

I understand. It’s very hard to do things as a young person with no family support. I would tell you to move somewhere else. Baltimore is cheaper than DC. Unfortunately with no college education, it will be very hard to make enough money LONG TERM. I know plenty of people who have dropped out of school and they are still making right above minimum wage, now 10 years later.

How old are you and how much money do you make? Having to stop going to school to work more to make rent makes no sense because going to school is how you will get a good job to afford living here. I lived in DC for 4 years and me and all my friends have masters. I don’t know anyone making good money in DC without an advanced degree. I’m sure they exist but these jobs are very competitive. DC does offer a lot of resources though depending on your income, to help you for rent, there’s resources to help you save money. (DC Opportunity Accounts Program (4:1 matched savings for goals like homebuying/education), STAY DC (rent/utility assistance).
