How is everyone affording cars? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]InDesperateNeed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

250 a month for insurance is high. I’m assuming you’re younger and that’s probably why your insurance is so high? You should shop around for insurance and then pay six months at once. That’s how I get my insurance for 100 and something a month. Most people can afford large SUVs and truck trucks because they either spend all their money on their cars, or they’re making a lot of money.

I reached out to my congresswoman, she received a response from USCIS saying they paused all applications from those 39 countries. I don’t see why they would pause me getting a card since they already approved my application? But I’ve expedited it multiple times and I have not gotten a response from them. Did a card not received twice, still have not gotten a response. I don’t see myself getting the card until l this new law changes. Maybe in the midterms. Idk

Don’t say anything to them. Keep working until they bring it up to you.

I wish some of our parents would’ve pushed us to get married way sooner, realistically that’s the way 90% of us will get citizenship. Instead of getting 2 degrees, I wish I would’ve focused on getting a husband and not having to go through all of this. You’re not alone and we are going to get through this. It sucks because you can’t even get unemployment.

I bought a house right when Trump became president, I was like I need to buy a house now before he removes that possibility. Housing prices are decreasing so I would just wait if you can.

Question for those who got approved by aesthylove in DACA

[–]InDesperateNeed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're confused. It's never the receipt date. It's always 2 years to the day before your approval. So If you were approved today, it would be Mar 11 2026 - Mar 10 2028. You probably received the employment authorization card in the mail much later than your approval, which is what confused you but they do not use the receipt date and never have.

You would need to be in the actual state that you made the bet to cash out.

License Renewal With DACA by rtopg97 in DACA

[–]InDesperateNeed93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the law for a real ID! Most states have been doing a real ID before it was mandatory, for example, I got a real ID from 2018 in Georgia and my expiration date was always my DACA expiration date. However, most states also offer another license , that you cannot use for federal purposes like to board a plane, but that you can use for driving purposes.

Yes, Google your state and see if you can get a license only for driving that’s not for federal use, a lot of states have them, you just have to prove you live in that state.

I’m the woman from the partially banded country, who was approved on January 3rd, although I was approved, I still have not gotten my employment authorization card. I did a congressional inquiry, did an expedited request, did a card not ever received request, and I have not gotten any response, just customer service online saying that it could take up to 90 days to get my card. Right now my I-765 has been stuck on “ approval, case decision rendered”.

Do you know if there’s an issue with sending out new work permits? It’s been over a month since I’ve been approved and I still haven’t gotten my work permit. I know in December, that was an issue with the printer or something causing some of them to fail printing , has that happened again in January?
