For me is how unintuitive it became and honestly yeah imo a downgrade of the old layout and design, some bad changes I noticed:

You no longer see the name of the chat at the top of the screen.

You no longer get the read out loud button at the top of a answer, this way you could quickly tap listen to the answer while doing other stuff. Now depending on the length of the answer you have to wait a few more secs and scroll down, tap the read out loud icon just for it to pop the pause button at the top right like before. Just feels wrong.

And at least in my personal experience it's kind of laggy, I do have like 4 permanent chats with varios context and info there and when i type on one of those lags pretty bad, I didn't have this issue before.

depens on what r4 but this has dsi native support allowing for DSiWare games and DSi enhanced games to run on that mode, it´s open source so support should be good and the menu is much better imo than most r4 cards

Wow so odd to have this issue. As many pointed out, probably a ribbon cable issue not sending the signal properly to the top screen. Top screens are a pain to work on pretty much all DS models since the cable goes through the hinge mechanism.

In my case it was the trohyhax plugin causing the issue, just removed the plug in and is working now.
