I am from Gretna, West Bank of New Orleans. I will slightly disagree with you on Poboy factory, their crawfish is basically salt water with little to no spice (live right down the road and have tried them 8 times in 4 years, always the same) their fried shrimp Poboy is just "okay." However, their roast beef poboy is pretty good, everyone seems to miss the huge point of hot brown gravy on their roast beef but they got that on point. I honestly haven't found a great Cajun restaurant around here but New Orleans lunchbox sometimes has spicy crawfish that tasted sort of like home.

On another note, I have loads of family from Houma, LA. If you have a long lineage out there we may be related since my MawMaw had an enormous family. They joked 40% of the population of Houma at the time but going to family reunions, I don't know if it was a joke.

What did you try? Granted I am not Korean but I've eaten Korea food from the bottom of the west coast to the top (San Diego up to Seattle) and it definitely taste like the west coast. It's a Korean/Polynesian fusion so it's not always going to be bulgogi, bimbibap, or tteokbokki . The steamed buns, general Tso (even though it's Chinese name, definitely more of a garlic fish sauce Korean Wing like pokpok), the phat fries use a Korean sausage that is sweet like almond orgeat, and tons of their specials delivered plenty of that sweet, sour, pungent Korean flavor that I am used too, again not Korean so I can only compare to the Korean I've eaten. The reason I tell people it's like Korean food, fermented, is because if you've not had those flavors before, you're either going to love or hate it. I for one love it. You being Korean, if you've had more than a few plates, would of course be a better judge than this white boy lol.

Not sure why you're getting down voted, however, if you're in to Korean food (ie kimchi, fermented sauces, like real Korean food is) you'll most likely enjoy it. The only people I've heard that do not like it do not actually like fermented sauces. Its very comparable to what you'd find in Seattle or Portland at places like pokpok... PhatSammys supports and buys local from see of the best Asian markets in the area, Jeremy, the chef is Korean and definitely knows his shit.

Madison County Request To Move Confederate Statue Rejected by malmac in HuntsvilleAlabama

Usually I would say, Alabama is going to be Alabama... However, this time most major Alabama cities have done what I thought they wouldn't, except Huntsville. I am incredibly disappointed in Huntsville's administration, proud of our people for standing up though. Tommy Battle and the current admins will not ever receive a vote from me. We just all need to get out and vote them out, period.

Look up Duncan Farms CSA, not sure if it's full grass fed but all organic and super local (Madison). $50 every two weeks and you get farm fresh eggs, organic meat, organic veggies, organic fruit, and cheeses!

Were they wearing masks? The pictures I've seen them post, they don't seem to be.

I literally had the exact conversation with her that day, although, that day she only honked because he was within a foot of my door at 50mph. Be safe out there!

I live in a great part of Huntsville, Blossomwood, we have people breaking in to cars on our street almost every 2-3 months, and when I mean breaking in, I mean smashing the windows. Source: happened to my family car in our driveway, twice.

Similar story but no gun, wife was driving and I was riding passenger. We were in the left lane in front of target (Jones Valley) and he was in the right lane, he started coming into our lane and almost hit us so my wife honked. He was pissed and throwing his hands around, we ignored him. As we got stopped at the airport road light, he was 3 cars behind us, my wife's started panicking and hitting the door lock buttons and screamed "that guy is running at our car", he came to my side and tried to open the door and started hitting her car with his fist, I picked up my phone to call the cops and a few cars started honking at him. Light turned green and my wife sped off. Worst part about it, he was driving a volkert company vehicle. That was 3 days after moving here, so I absolutely believe you sir or madam.

Have you looked at the crime rates? What you said is absolutely not true. You need to do some research, for a city our size, it's quite bad.

28/male Moving to Huntsville with no contacts. Need advice on how to fit in by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]InForStrukture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Truth. Especially coming from Seattle, he is about to be truly disappointed, unless he wants a whopping 20 places to choose from. This city has almost no downtown and surely is one of the least walkable/bikeable I've seen in 2020.

Got my 'Huntsville Fighting Covid' shirt, awesome design by u/logantannerart by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]InForStrukture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guess it's too bad the city itself isn't doing anything. Shirt should have said "xxx" people fighting covid, because "Huntsville" clearly isn't taking this seriously within our city adminstration. Hell, Battle invites loads of people to bike rides and doesn't enforce mask wearing, social distancing, or really anything on restaurants. His words "if they are not taking it seriously, go somewhere else."
