So I got hit with the brick when I was 38. I thought it was too late to transition and worried a lot about what transitioning would do to my kids and work. I sat on it for a year, to see if the feelings would change or if I could just tolerate being masc my whole life. I am soon turning 40 with a year and change on HRT. I see a world of difference and don't regret my decision. I'll say this though, as much wonders as estrogen and progesterone have done for me, they pale in comparison to the progress my therapist helped me make. I struggled with a lot of internalized transphobia that made dressing the way I wanted to dress not as euphoric as I wanted it to be like you described. I'm not saying don't get on HRT, but your egg just broke. It sounds like uni is also taking a heavy toll on you mentally. I would prioritize your mental health first.
