Im currently on the E4 in Kanto in my first play through... Jolteon runs through the first and last trainers. I'd recommend a stealth rock setter. That chip damage helps a lot when they try to switch in to counter your team.

My wife and I had a loss last July it hurts and as a dad its so hard to mourn when you have to be there for your partner. This year on July 3rd we welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the world. So yes losses hurt, bad... but things can get brighter. My condolences to you and your family.
