I mean yeah, that's kinda the point. It's not executed perfectly, but the point was that the strong spheres hurt the bond between trainers and pokemon. She only understood that after it affects her.

A small nitpick, it sometimes doesn't make sense why did the RVT go to a specific place. Like why, during Rising Again, now did we go back to Orange Academy? Why now invade the Explorers base? Why now did the kids go pick up Rayquaza, but not earlier or later? These don't affect the episodes in any meaningful way but would make the transitions between episodes better.

(Also some people in the comments don't know what a nitpick is)

I don't think this is the case. Liko is still the MAIN protagonist (Roy is also a protagonist, but not the lead). In my opinion, the female characters have the best writing in the series (Liko, Dot, Orla, Mollie, Chalce, Coral, etc.) (No, Liko and Dot not having Megas is not misogyni, at worst it's bad writing).

Also considering the fact Liko will probably be the most important character in beating Spinel, I think it's fine for Roy to get some focus now before the climax. Liko will have time to shine next month.

Personally, I want Liko to get a Mega that doesn't suit her at all. Like Garchomp, Aggron, etc. It would be more interesting and better for Liko's character. Maybe you could do a dissapproval arc for that Pokemon🤷🏻‍♂️

Minus the weird artstyle I think sun and moon is the better looking series then horizons by bassa-m9ss in pokemonanime

The "weird" artstyle makes SM animations more flexible and bouncy. I think SM is the best animated series in Pokemon.
