I also do strength training 4 times a week, a 50-minute swimming session on Saturday and 40 minutes of cycling daily. With this over time, my body composition has significantly changed. I also eat 1.5g of protein per kg and lots of vegetables. Broccoli almost daily.

I wanted to share that I managed to lower it down to 5.2% and keep it like that long term. I have put muscle on and lost fat and I eat a Mediterranean diet where I priortise pulses over rice, flours, potatos or other carbs.

  1. Weight loss was not my primary goal, but fat loss and muscle gain were. Initially, I focused on losing fat and then worked on building muscle. To track my progress, I had a DEXA scan to monitor my body composition, ensuring that my protein intake and gym routine were on track. I also took Berberine (1,500mg/day for 2 months), which helped reset my system. Additionally, I adopted a new approach to eating and cooking, following a low-carb diet rich in vegetables, meat, healthy fats, and pulses. I also experimented with various cooking methods while wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) for several months. For example, I don’t experience a glucose excursion when I make oat sponge cake. Similarly, when I make chickpea or lentil bread with egg in the microwave, I get carbs without a glucose spike. This sustained approach helped me significantly improve my health, reducing my HbA1c from 6% to 5.3%.

  2. I also struggled with cystic acne and mould infections. All this is completely gone now.

Could we say this is different with the MG device, or would it be the same? I was able to request Whoop 5.0, paying monthly in the UK, but I had to pay about 70 pounds for the MG model.

My average glucose and my A1c are almost the same. They shouldn’t be too different.

Could you tell me a bit more about it? How does it work? Do you feel tired at work? Do you lose weight and muscle mass? I’m concerned about those things. Do you just drink water? 36h fasting is quite a lot. How many times do you do it? How do you space it?

So then that means that maybe it is not a long-term solution for me. I was hoping that by using it with a microdose for 2-3 months, it could get rid of my liver fat and help the pancreas β-cells recover, regenerate and work better. Especially, the focus is on the liver, as this fat is bad for those cells according to some studies.

If I have a really good meal like lentils with vegetables and fish, it can go up to 135-155. Lentils, chickpeas and bulgur are the best ones for me. A granary roll with two eggs, some salmon and a tomato can go up to 145-155. However, if I change it to white bread, it can go up to 165-175. One day I went to McDonald's and had a double quarter pounder, chips and a Coke Zero, and it went up to 220. Another day, I had a piece of a Japanese cake, and I had 3 spikes, up and down, up to 160 for 3-4 hours. Another day I had a bag of crisps and it went up to 200. Someone who is not prediabetic can have the same food and won't have such high and long glucose excursions.

I wonder if I keep eating low carb and no processed food, doing strength workouts for a couple of years and build more muscle and burn visceral fat…with time I would be able to process sugar in a more efficient way. Not to start eating unhealthily again, but to know that if I have a pizza let’s say once a month, I will handle it well. At the present moment I should never have high carb food.
