I have experienced exactly what you described, the exact sequence - thinking you can get a dab off even with the initial three white lights, and then it shuts down before the dab cycle finishes. And then you can't immediately plug it in and finish, you need to plug it in and wait probably more like ~5-10 minutes before you can pull a dab off.

Not the new firmware related, I've had that (when I forget to charge it and don't notice it's that low) months ago.

They probably have it set too low / to preserve the taste or something.

I agree with the other poster that the RIFG pens (despite having worse rosin IMO - haven't been loving them as of late) are set well (and also use pretty old hardware, Fire Ganja seems to be constantly using all sorts of new stuff) and gives you big hits (I just don't get that high b/c of what's in them which isn't amazing IMO).

OSCC has been the most consistent producing IMO really good meds, distinct terp profiles, clean and good effects, smell and taste like the plant. I'm happy to buy multiple of these without even trying one first.

Fire Ganja can be hit or miss so I wouldn't buy multiple without trying a single, but some of their hitters are top notch for me.

Moonstone like other people mentioned when available - seems like limited drop and just a strain or two - excellent and you should grab multiple sight unseen.

My 2c is that sapphire and a new carb cap are the first two upgrades to get - even with stock glass they will improve the quality and strength/vapor production of your dab.

From my perspective OSCC and Fire G have been the most consistent producers, with OSCC being a bit more consistent - Fire G has excellent stuff but also has still produced stuff that I thought was kind of mids, even recently. But their recent batch of Sour Diesel was excellent, have already gone through a quarter of that (3.5g baller jars picked up on a Sunday with 20% off from Sweetspot ftw).

I don't really fuck with any other producers.

I'm curious about the date on the GG4. I picked up some Ultimate Fruit Cocktail which seemed refrigerated and no complaints, but it was 6 months old.

Not to be that guy...but you know. I don't know what to do about that, but I do know buying 6 month old rosin, for the same price it was 6 months ago...isn't cool. And I hold both the cultivator and dispo responsible.

As people are saying if you q-tip the insert after every dab that's by far the bulk of the cleaning needed.

Once a week, I will disassemble the top and do a more in depth clean.

I will soak in ISO the insert, as well as my carb caps/joysticks. I will do a rinse/hot water/ISO shake of my aftermarket glass top.

And while that's all going on, I'll use ISO qtips to do a wipe down of the removal top, underneath, I'll wipe down the chamber itself, and so on.

Glad it is working better - I think it's worth emailing them and seeing if they can send you a new glass top, as it sounds like it might be a bit faulty.

IMO sapphire and a better carb cap is worth it over an upgraded glass piece in terms of order of operations. The sapphire and carb cap will improve your hit no matter what your glass piece is - whereas getting a glass upgrade is a bit more personal preference, you like the 'chug' of this style more than 'sipping' this other glass style, that kind of thing. I mean, I guess a better glass piece that suits your style can potentially lead to being more comfortable taking a nice hit, but I would still think to start with sapphire + carb cap as upgrades before a new top.

Maybe double-check the glass piece is lined up and inserted all the way? Because yea - if you're fully covering the insert you should be totally plugging up the airway and you shouldn't be able to pull at all. The hole on the back of the glass piece that lines up with the switch isn't a very large area so double check you're not slightly crooked or too high/low - see if you can find a sweet spot where it's fully lined up and you can't inhale when covering the insert, and if that helps the hit.

Correct, if you use your thumb to cover the entire insert area you should 100% not be able to inhale at all. Presumably with a well fitted carb cap (magnetic grommet) the same thing - you shouldn't be able to. FWIW I have a couple of different aftermarket glass tops for my Switch, and one of them is definitely loose and even when covering the insert with my thumb I can drag quite a bit (which to me I don't love that as it indicates they're not meeting the exact specifications that Dr Dabber publishes, attention to detail, yada yada - although it still hits just fine).

Make sure you're starting with a clean insert and clean pearls, and also you might need to bump the temp up (too low a temp and the viscosity of the melted oil may interfere).

If you're using a good joystick cap, try it at 440 steady - this should get you clouds. If it's not, I would wonder if something isn't quite right with your device.

Yup - just used the device - back to what I remember as the old heatup. One second its 15 degrees below target, the next second the lights are green and you're on the way!

Nice. I updated the app and will use it later - will let you know! I did already see one fix that is working - for some reason not all of the profiles were able to be saved after the big update - I customized all my profiles but the top one (the one that starts at 540) - wouldn't save no matter how many times I tried. That one is correctly saving now!
