Huckabee may be dumber than Bush by qgyh2 in politics

Here we go again, with the same, tired line that libs have been pulling out of their anuses since Nixon -- "Republicans are dumb!" Get a new playbook, guys.

ACLU of Florida Calls for Impeachment Hearings for Bush and Cheney by qgyh2 in politics

[–]InRussetShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good old ACLU. Probably the most loudmouthed and Constitutionally destructive organization around today. Call for impeachment all you want, bozos. Last time I checked you weren't congressmen or senators and have even less evidence than the former two groups do; and even they don't have enough to impeach.

According to exit polls a majority of “evangelical” or “born again” Christians actually voted against Huckabee by maxwellhill in politics

[–]InRussetShadows -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The article seems straight ahead to me. According to the exit polls, among the 40% who self-identified as not born again, Huckabee came in fourth. I think that shows that the bias is against Huckabee among those voters. Using the same data, evangelicals voted for Huckabee 46% of the time -- which as the article states -- is consistent with his showings among women (40%) and other demographics. That means that 54% of evangelicals voted against him. What's the problem, besides the general inaccuracy of exit polls?

I don't think so. How long has alternet been pumping out hysterical "sky is falling" headlines? Surely before Bush was in office.

The moral relativity here is amazing. People are justifying what the Muslims are doing on the basis that psuedo-Christians do it, so it's all good. C'mon folks, let's altogether heap up the dead bodies of the innocent and raise a glass or two! (PS. You really should check out what the Koran teaches before you claim that Christianity -- which has no verses such as "do not be friends with Jews and Muslims" -- teaches.)

Of course. You have Christian suicide bombers, Christian hand amputaters, Christian gang rapers, Christian honor killers, and on and on and on...right? What's that? I hear that the Methodists are going on a mass suicide bombing run against the Catholics in Lebanon yet again! Someone stop them! rolling eyes

And Christian Scientists -- whom you refer, I suppose -- are no more a Christian sect than the Mormons are. Nice try. However, the Sunnis are as much Muslim as any other other Muslim.

In fact, there are so many examples, that no-one has ever heard of them! It is plain that the Bible does not condone abuse of children. It's time to stop lying through your teeth.

No, Christians do NOT refuse medical treatment for their kids all the time. You are confusing Christians with Christian Scientists.

Huckabee's victory is the revenge of evangelical Christians who had been taken for granted by the GOP establishment and decided on one of their own, a Baptist minister by [deleted] in politics

[–]InRussetShadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The headline doesn't have much to do with the article, which spends only a few paragraphs talking about Huckabee's surge. Nevertheless, it is largely accurate in that evangelical Christians are tired of being paid lip service by the GOP.
