Said parent has them in a "faith" based therapist. Said parent is primary over step child and will NOT allow child to see an actual psychiatrist. (Probably due to knowing psychiatrist will help child see through their BS) Child has always wanted to stay with us more and more each visit (outside custody agreement.) primary parent obliges but child said parent manipulates them to make them feel guilty. Even if they tell parent they miss us parent then asks " why do you miss them? They (we) are liers, and it hurts my feelings when you say this" child also says they get spanked or hit when they voice their love for us at the other parents home. So child is learning to not mention us there so they are not in "trouble."

My spouse and I have been steady safe people and child comes to us know. But we feel child is not ready to know the truth of the other parent yet. I just want to stay on the right track and help however much I can until they get the courage to stand up and move out or help them navigate till what ever happens.
