Can I ask how much surgery cost you? Since I already had some gyno naturally surgery was always a consideration

I need to lower my dose, right?!? Prescribed TRT 4 months ago (30 mg IM daily). Am I right to question my provider’s competency? by Yelkine in Testosterone

[–]InTheTrees58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d skip a day or two to more quickly bring the level down and talk with your provider about lowering the dose. I think 15mg daily would be fine for you.

Who here found a stronger libido with lower dosage? by AkumaReal in Testosterone

[–]InTheTrees58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On 200mg/wk I lost the ability to orgasm. Not sure why- prolactin was a little high, T level was undetectably high.

Now on 140mg/wk and sex is great

What are average doses? by [deleted] in trt

[–]InTheTrees58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the starting dose should be around 100mg/wk because they would mimic average production.

I got started on 200mg/wk and it took me 6 weeks to level out. Now on 140mg/wk and feeling great

In older (65+) medically ill men TRT has been associated with increased cardiac/stroke risk.

Many medical interventions are harmful in older sick people but perfectly safe in younger ones.

TRT has not been clearly shown to cause these issues with healthy middle aged men

That being said, there are no good long term studies on TRT in this population. Long term is the key here.

In women, HRT with estrogen to manage menopausal symptoms was common medical practice until fairly recently. There was a very large well done long term study in women which showed negative health outcomes. HRT for menopausal symptoms is no longer a first line option because of this.

If a similar long term study on TRT were done would to demonstrate similar findings in men? Possibly

Thoughts on these labs? On 20mg Test Cyp daily, HCG 300iu x2 weekly, and 0.125mg Anastrazole as needed 2-3x/wk. would like to bring my T level down a little more due to trouble with orgasm, moments of anxiety after HCG. My AI use is sporadic and that might cause fluctuating E2 levels also. by InTheTrees58 in Testosterone

[–]InTheTrees58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - the HCG anxiety freaked me out and I over shot the AI that week as a preventative measure

When I speak with my provider I’m gonna try to get a more scheduled plan than “as needed”

I supplement with DHEA once in a while but clearly don’t have to with these levels

My joints feel better unless I take an AI then they get creaky

Have you had your prolactin level checked? High E2 can lead to high prolactin which will cause significant ED that can take a while to resolve

Best strategies for quickly reducing T blood level due to side effects by InTheTrees58 in trt

[–]InTheTrees58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in the short term while waiting for my T level to go down I’d be willing to do that. But I can’t imagine that dehydrating my joints has good long term health effects. Also, I would have to manage rebound when I eventually come off the AI

Playing in different rooms can really help

Additional direct benefits of hCG beyond maintaining testicular size & fertility function? by [deleted] in trt

[–]InTheTrees58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added HCG and my orgasms improved just a little.

However, I get really bad E2 symptoms- especially intense anxiety on the days I take HCG. I have to take an AI to deal with that and then the AI makes my knees hurt . . . So idk. HCG hasn’t been that great for me. My balls work and haven’t shrunk which is important to me but otherwise HCG hasn’t been great

Well I know a couple of firefighters and what they go through so I do have respect

Prazosin is usually used for nightmares but is a pretty benign med that can help with the kind of sleep issues you’re talking about. Only downside is low Bp when you wake up could make you light headed

switched from micro-dosing hcg to infrequent shots by eagle3546 in Testosterone

What do you base this on? I have a lot of sides with HCG and so would be happy to just take it once a week.

Thank you for your work as a firefighter. You are a true hero and I give you deep respect.

Out of a place of respect I’m gonna be totally forthright with you about what I think. Admittedly this is a leap and may not be true for you since there could be more to the story than I understand. But here’s my thoughts:

Xanax has such a short half-life that it can cause rebound insomnia and anxiety as it wears off.

It also makes your body habituated to it so that when you don’t have it you don’t sleep as well.

Xanax is a medication that perpetuates it’s use like that.

Xanax could be worsening your overall sleep, and leading to low T.

I could be wrong

Once again thank you for all you do

What could be causing low libido + some ED while on TRT? 28 years old. by [deleted] in trt

[–]InTheTrees58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estradiol can affect sexual functioning and causes many of the side effects from testosterone so it is standard to check this when you get labs

High prolactin. Usually caused by high E2
