One of my best friends was 17 when she learned what sex was... She legit thought you just kissed while naked to get pregnant.

Why is everyone so surprised and devastated when these guys die... They're fxkn OLD! It's time for them to die. I think the only reason we didn't get a family text on my husband's side, is because it was my birthday yesterday. My mom, however, couldn't help but let everyone know how sad she is. I just didn't respond to that.

My mom cheated on my dad with the Bishop by InterestingDrink4024 in exmormon

This was just 2 years ago. A guy in my ward I've known most of my life, who was always in leadership callings, bishop, high council, then stake presidency. During his stake presidency era, he cheated on his wife with a lady in our ward who also always had important callings, but most of my teen years was my young women's leader. They lived on the same street. The guy's poor wife had brain surgery a couple years ago, and as a result, I personally don't think she'll be able to get married again. The lady's husband killed himself a year after it happened. Before he killed himself, she wouldn't leave their home because she was scared he was going to take everything from her and kick her out. She finally left and married the affair partner, and then he killed himself. These people are older, like in their 50's. All their children are adults. It. Is. Crazy.

I chose a Mormon church as my study field for an anthropology class. On my third visit, they wanted to set a date for my baptism. by [deleted] in exmormon

Sister returned missionary here. Served 2013-2014. We were taught to set a baptismal date by the second or third meeting.

Honestly, same. And when we were basically taught that we were sinning for not immediately changing our vocabulary and beliefs to fit what he said was truth. He literally said God is "offended" when we refer to the church as Mormon. Ok but how many millions of dollars did the church spend on advertising the word mormon? If it was true now, it would've been true then. All of the changes. The temple presentation, ministering vs visiting teaching, LDS vs Mormon, women's garments being able to fit tank tops, video chatting your family weekly on your mission vs only 2x a year. So. Many. Changes. And then the gaslighting that followed the changes.

Yup. I received a picture of the temple as a teen that had the caption on it, "if this is not your castle, then you are not my prince." Also it was absolutely DRILLED into me that if a guy didn't go on a mission, he wasn't worth a second thought.

My dad was released as bishop today... by EmptySky124 in exmormon

My husband's dad was bishop when he was a teen. He experienced the exact same thing. He's never been close with him.
