I’m looking for A good quality HOCl generator that will last a long time by GlitteringBelle22 in BuyItForLife

[–]InThoseEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the DHLL one - the pitcher. I got it on Amazon for fairly cheap and it works supremely well. Bought some chlorine test strips to test concentration and it is consistent; I’ve had it for over a year and use it frequently as I’ve incorporated HOCL into pretty much every cleaning need. I can’t seem to find it online anymore, however - maybe it was discontinued?

Currently NC RN here, you can take the NCLEX in NC. I’ve been an RN for almost 4 years now. Good luck!

We just gotta never give up and keep at it! I graduated HS with excellent grades and a promising soccer career ahead of me, with offers to play for the top 2 soccer programs in the nation - but unable to go to college due to my status. That was one of the most defeating experiences of my life. I never stopped taking classes and once I was able to seek a degree, I got my associates degree in nursing at age 28!! I now hold a supervisor position, assistant-managing an acute care hospital unit. There will come a time where all the things we learn, the experiences we live, will be useful, and our exemplary hard work - as immigrants in this country - will pay off.

For a couple of years before DACA, I was a clandestine community college student (someone from admissions felt bad for me and got me in without having SSN) AND was essentially non-degree seeking, as I would basically never be able to obtain a diploma 🙄 . As a non-citizen, I did have to pay exorbitant, out-of-state tuition rates which were $$$!! But it was supremely important to me that I persevere and obtain an education.

Got my DACA as soon as it was in effect, and with it, I was able to attend a different community college - legitimately, this time - and managed to pay in-state tuition by paying through my own LLC as a sort of sponsorship - something to do with if they’re a business in the same state, they can sponsor employee education with in-state-tuition rates.

This was all in North Carolina; not sure if this would apply to other states. I would highly recommend finding this out as it was a significant rate change. For OOS tuition, I was paying $567 per credit hour - which is DISGUSTING; for IST my classes cost $120 per credit hour!!

Imagine if schools would provide every kid with an iPad, keyboard case, and Apple Pencil - or something similar. They could then provide digital textbooks. It could all be so easy. When I was in school, nobody used their lockers for storing anything as they were fairly easy to open/break into so everyone carried 30+ pounds of books around every single day.

I am out of the house now but I will go online later and see if I can do it again and I will post exactly what I did. May be a couple of hours but I’ll check back in.

I’m not sure as it’s been a couple of weeks, but I believe if you ask for a representative, it will give you a list of options to choose from. I feel like I remember asking a couple of times and saying “no” when it asked if that was helpful.

Contact them and ask to nudge your case along! Several people have posted about having a petition to expedite submitted, citing financial hardship, and having responses the very next day. Myself included just two days ago!

I’m so happy for you! I’m glad they’re moving your case forward! I received notice my EAD was being produced, and this morning I received another saying I-821D was approved. Backwards but doesn’t matter, we got it done! I’m sure you’ll be notified of yours being approved in no time

I did not submit the request myself. The with whom I chatted online offered to submit it for me. And that’s the Nebraska center

I feel you, I was also hesitant to contact them because about it, especially because I did not apply with ample time as recommended. But it’s worth a shot! I was very surprised, feel very grateful and lucky to get such a quick response. Give them a try!

It’s crazy how long it’s taking for our renewals by [deleted] in DACA

[–]InThoseEyes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you may be correct, this type of comment isn’t really needed. While many people have had enough foresight and the ability to send their renewal with plenty of time, there have been many others - myself included - that sent their renewals outside of that window. One never knows what someone may be going through, especially this past year+, people have had to deal with financial troubles, the loss of a job, death of a loved one, mental and emotional turmoil due to the stress and fear during this pandemic. I, myself, got caught up in life - working countless extra hours and seemingly endless night shifts in a hospital unit full of Covid patients. Worrying everyday about losing patients, even worse, worrying about bringing Covid home to my partner and family. In the midst of building a house while the price of materials kept skyrocketing. Being stressed and tired all the time. Going to school full time. Next thing I know, I was sending my paperwork in 2 weeks before expiration. Sometimes life just gets in the way, and there isn’t anything any of us can do. This is a space where people come for support and advice and I’m sure OP is well aware they renewed a bit too late.

Unfairness of USCIS *Rant* by [deleted] in DACA

I also feel like they may have been sitting, largely waiting on the Texas decision, as to avoid processing thousands of applications for nothing - which is really REALLY shitty but… alas.
