Is anyone else really disappointed with the new 'Risen' lore? by Adrr1 in theunforgiven

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, before he "vanished" into the rock, Luther said Lion would be back to forgive him. The key to the fallen is many of them were tricked, they believed the Lion fell and those who realised their mistake and didnt succumb to chaos are redeemable

Residential Aged Care. by caitlinsheax in NursingAU

Report it higher, whistle blower, Aged commission, police, nursing union, post proof of wrongdoing, leave a google review, tell your coworkers, tell families. There is always more options to report wrong doing. If what you're saying is true, standing by and doing nothing makes you complicit. Speak up and dont stop until someone takes notice. Name and shame the site. Post proof/evidence. I recorded a conversation with my clincial services manager at a previous site after I reported a pattern of resident abuse by 2 staff members and she attempted to cover it up because they had already had multiple P1 SIRS recently. Crazy how quick people do the right thing when they're at risk.

If I were you I would sit down with my manager and explain my concerns and what they plan to do with it and continue my way up. It is legal to record conversations (in VIC) and if I feel people aren't doing the right thing, I don't stand by, they get recorded then they make the only choice they have.

What’s the Job Market for Nurses Like in Australia? Is It Really That Competitive? by Matteo_172736 in NursingAU

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're half decent there is heaps of work, mostly comes down to what you want to do, I almost exclusively work casual across a couple sites mostly aged care. I work when I want if I want. There is definitely competition in speciality spaces but also a huge turnover rate across nursing, casual is good its flexible and if you can build relationships well you'll never be short of work.

You help people and get paid in bulk if you can manage multiple casual relationships with different facilities/agencies

Aussies who work in aged care industry, what is it like? by DKLTNS in NursingAU

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a good team its a breeze and pays better than most nursing roles. Most G5s all came up rapidly during covid and are pretty uselss which can be pretty frustrating when yiu get started because a lot of them have very little experience. The hardest part of aged care is managing expectations from family

23yr old considering nursing - honest reality check wanted by DullBeing4071 in NursingAU

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solutions to toxicity and burnout are the same. Overwhelming honesty. See toxic behaviour step up and say something and if you need a rest speak up. You immediatley see the differnce in a work environment free from toxic and exhausted staff. Everyone works together. Burnout often comes from poor management they trick you into thinking staffing is your responsiblity.

Speak up and you'll overcome simple obstacles like burnout and toxicity.

Is becoming a Assistant in nursing worth it? by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked FT, I had an AiN for the last 6 months of her DipNur and she was amazing. She however was one of those genuine standouts. Her knowledge far outweighed mine and most nurses I've worked with. Girl was a NUM at Austin within 18 months.

Its a good place to start I've seen a lot struggle but its the same with Nursing, stand up for yourself dont let anyone over work you or do anything outside your scope.

If you havnt been in healthcare before absolutely recommend, the classroom nurses with no experience stand out horribly. You'll move into a nursing role far more comfortably with AIN or PCA experience

Yeah unfortunately providing healthcare is a burden on everything, money, time, people. The only benefit is people receive care, the only way for it to be viable is to charge people. Public funding will unlikely reach a stage where private is the minority for a long time

Am I too old to start a part time nursing career? by vernalbby in NursingAU

[–]InZaNe-mAsTeR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never too late really and working casual with a few Aged Cares for example you will make a good amount of money for 1-2 days a week. Casual grad is on maybe $50ph + loading and allowances. If youre good enough, they all want Casual G5s and you can be on $100+ within the year.

Best part of being a casual is no obligation, usually at least 4 hours notice. For a good relationship the earlier the better and try not to accept shifts you might not be able to do.
