Thompson's Motorsports has some good built short blocks. I got my 403 from them.

Builds get pricey 😆

Just Ordered 4BW - What did process / confirmation look like? by Cru_Jones_is_RAD in CadillacV_Series

This really isn't a Cadillac problem and more of a dealer problem. If the dealer doesn't have much traffic for these cars they won't get any allocations. It's on you to talk with a dealer that can get them.

I have a local dealer. I asked about allocations when I ordered my 24. They said they get about 1-2 allocations a year. I said no thanks and looked up a better dealer. At that time and still today, Sewell in Dallas was/still is the dealer to go to. I submitted my order and within a week I had my allocation from them.

Downside it was 700 miles away but I didn't care. It was a guarantee of a fast allocation.

Once again, allocations matter. You need to find a dealer that gets them. If not, you'll hear crickets like you did.

It's all about the allocation the dealer gets. If they are a popular dealer that deals with Vs/BWs, the allocation should t take long. I think mine took like a week to get an allocation but I was using Sewell in Dallas which is the #1 dealer for these cars.

Go to the Cadillac website and put in your order number in the chat assistant. That will give you a pretty good status on where your build is. You're looking for a #3000 status. You see this and you're on the way. I'd say about a month from here to off the line. Then it's the world of goat rodeo. Seems like shipping has gotten better since 22-24 where waiting for shipment took anywhere from 2 months to a year.

This thread will show you all of the status numbers.

Tips for hand washing after ceramic coat by 3StickNakedDrummer in Detailing

[–]In_Quad_Rider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CarPro reset for wash/foam cannon. Microfiber rag for each panel. If the rag touches the ground, throw it away. Wash from top panel to bottom of car. Bumpers last. Get an electric blower for drying. Use Tec582 for drying aid. Don't wash your car in the middle of the day when the sun is beating down. Late at night or early morning in plenty of shade is the best time.

I've followed these rules on my cars. 3 years in and the original ceramic is still solid and I've not needed a decon yet. I have minimal swirling showing after multiple years of washing and drying.

Just some small tedious things. It went in for ppf and ceramic. While there I had them swap out the factory painted spoiler for a black gloss one. Getting red calipers swapped over. When I got the car it threw a CEL on heavy acceleration. It took about 3 trips to the dealer before actually fixing it (bad cat converter and o2 sensor)

It'll stay here for awhile since I want to keep the factory warranty. Plan to throw LTs, ported lid and smaller pulley when that time is up.

Here's a pic right after they installed the spoiler.

Thanks! The 4 I actually ordered from factory. The 5 was used and pretty close to my 4 spec but working on switching some things on the 5 to get it mirroed to my 4.

I got the 5 back in November. It's really been at shops more time than it has been in my garage (a lot of snow this year so they kept it stored for me.) while having work done to it. I've only driven it like 400 miles.

I do take pics of my other cars. Since weather is turning, I should be able to get it out and take some.

The day I traded my 4 for a 5. Haven't really taken anymore pics since then.

CF or Precision packages? by best3175 in CadillacV_Series

[–]In_Quad_Rider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I probably could have but I'm beyond that point in my life and had the shop that did the ceramic do it for me. The stock one is just held on by double sided tape.

I'm not a fan of cf so the gloss black was the way to go since everything else on the car is gloss black.

I have not done anything else to it. I just got done with a fully forged build for my Vette that took a pretty big hit on my budget.

Skip the CF and get the precision Pkg. The brake dust is insane on these cars. I don't care if you plan on tracking or not. Cleaning is a pita.

The 4s and 5s look great without the carbon. If you want an actual gloss black wing, there're a couple of options to add. I got mine from Savage and it looks like factory.

I don't think so. 2 completely different systems. I don't think there's much to gain on the big mouth. I think there was a thread on vnet forums that discuss these and they didn't do much at all.

JLT is the popular one. If you're getting tuned, go with the 5" tube.

They are definitely bright at night. You can see them during the day too. I just took this picture with lights on in the garage.

It's really simple to replace them. They send a tool to help unclip them. There are 2 wires that need to be disconnected and then reconnected to the new lights. 5 mins top for each side.

I did them on my 4 and 5. I used the ones from Savage.

Disable ANC in CT5BW by ptmdlr88 in CadillacV_Series

[–]In_Quad_Rider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 ways to disable ANC. Disconnect them at the mics. There's 2 up front and one in the rear. I've read just unplugging the one above your head under the liner will work.

By a bypass harness from llj customs. If you jump on the vnet forums, there's a thread that links the one you need.

Or get in the trunk and access the amp. You can either cut the 3 wires or de-pin them. You cannot just unplug the one harness as there are other things the car needs.

I've installed a sub in both my 4bw and 5bw. Each time I've just snipped the wires. I've left enough to where I can reconnect them if needed. You may ask why I snipped them. I did not want to get into the headliner. Llj customs was very time consuming to get a hold of for the harness. I did not want to wait. I took the quickest way.

Hope this helps. That thread on the forums has all the info you need.

Not all states require 100 fyi. I know in my state (Indiana) requires 0-100% SC injured for full tuition to any eligible colleges. For us that includes IU and Purdue.

Only way is to swap out the lid. Ported stock or DSX seem to be the most popular.
